  1. Review titled Wonderful end of life care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gilly - Posted on 16 September 2024

All the staff who were involved with our Mum’s care on EAU + Tiptree ward were wonderful. We were listened to by Dr’s + all nursing staff + we could not have wished for her to have any better care throughout her 6 days in hospital. My brother + I were also well looked after too! Thank you everyone who was involved - you know who you are! 🥰 Keep up your very good work. With love + thanks Gilly

I was advised by 111 to visit the hospital on 23 Sep and from the moment I entered the hospital, to the moment I was discharged on 26 Sep, I was treated with exceptional care and respect by all members of staff.

  3. Review titled Exceptional care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My wife and I were taken to A&E by a very pleasant and professional ambulance crew at approximately 6pm yesterday (Saturday 28th September). It was clear that the unit was extremely busy. My wife was transferred to a hospital trolley and placed in a corridor where a number of people were already waiting on trolleys. We were both extremely impressed with all the staff that we came into contact. Despite being clearly under pressure the service and treatment that my wife received was exceptional. My wife was wheeled into a bay for various functions and then returned to the corridor where she still received treatment from the nurse who remained in the corridor. The consultant introduced himself to us fairly early on and reassured us both with his early diagnosis. He advised us that we might expect a stay of 2 to 3 hours ‘minimum!’ He was fairly accurate as we were out in just over three hours! At no time did we feel that we were not receiving exceptional treatment. A first class team. Thank you all.

  4. Review titled Small op to remove a potential cancerous growth on my ear

I have nothing but praise for the kindness, gentleness and professionalism of the staff of the Elmstead Day Unit. It is impossible to consider I could have had better treatment anywhere else and I was highly impressed by all. The staff went out of their way to ensure you were as relaxed and calm as one could hope for.

  5. Review titled Impossible to communicate with EAU

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 September 2024

My elderly mother was admitted to the EAU - getting a status on her condition was absolutely impossible as nobody would answer the phone over two days. I understand it is a busy department, but there really needs to be better methods of communicating (maybe a receptionist?)

On a visit to see my grandad. Him, my nan and I received an amazing level of care on the 9.9.2024 from a lovely nurse. After finding out that it was my nans birthday she went and brought my nan some flowers and chocolates which is something she’ll never forget because her actions was so thoughtful. She was also amazing with my grandad with distractions when needed when they were doing his obs. Definitely need more workers like her within the NHS. your care will never be forgotten by me and my nan. S u s a n n a you will never be forgotten

  9. Review titled Wait times not good enough

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Being told to go to maternity triage to see someone is fine, but I've only ever experienced the waiting times in the very small waiting area to be 4 hours or more, on multiple occasions, which has been a shared experience with women I've spoken to in there. The staff are doing their best but this standard isn't acceptable in my opinion. There is a sign on the wall that reads '6 women spent longer than 6 hours in triage this month' with a star next to it... This seems like an incredibly low bar to aim for as a positive and having heavily pregnant ladies wait this long isn't good enough.
