  1. Review titled absolutely death trap.

Rated 1 star out of 5

monday I went to a&e.on advice of heart clinic doctors. I went in 10:00 am sadly setting they over 31 hours without out any medicine or treatment. Not even food for 31 hours. Just 500 ml bottle of water at 10:00 am Tuesday morning after crying and pain. My advice only go to this hospital if you wish to die. Even Nursing staff say why I was they why I don’t go to at George’s hospital. i agreed to this point 1000% hell better for treatment After over 31 hours I had to discharge my self at 16:45.

  2. Review titled I was referred to A&E

by Surrey Alan - Posted on 31 October 2022

I had been feeling unwell for a considerable number of days. I was eventually able to see my GP who after examination referred me to A&E at Croydon University Hospital. There were a considerable number of patients to be seen, which is expect-able these days, but the treatment I received was brilliant. The medical staff were kind and polite. I had the same experience when I had to return on for further tests. Thank you to the A&E and Same Day Emergency Care Review Staff.

  3. Review titled One star is too many.

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended a&e with a severe infection and sent there by my GP to get IV antibiotics within an hour of arrival due to being at high risk of sepsis. It took them over 6 hours to even see me in the first one place in the mean time I am feeling more and more unwell by the minute. Then I have to spend 24 hours in a chair in the majors waiting area once again to be ignored and only given IV medication when it was time other than that I was begging for my paid medication and getting nothing. You didn’t get fed in a&e or a drink without begging. I’m sorry but I think the repeated experiences where you are having a consultation with drs at a chair in majors waiting area shocking. It is the worst hospital I have ever had the misfortune of visiting and sadly I will have to visit again in the future.

  4. Review titled My mum had excellent care

by weasel - Posted on 13 September 2022

My mum was rushed into A&E last week at Croydon University Hospital and received excellent care. She was treated by A&E, AMU and CCU and all the staff were attentive, professional, and reassuring. I want to thank all the hardworking staff for the care they provided to my mum, we are very thankful and delighted to have her home.

  6. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My elderly mum was admitted to A&E last week for breathing problems. She was first treated in Rescus, then A&E, Majors, then the AMU and finally the CCU. In the 4 days she was there, she received excellent care from the staff. We could, not fault the attention, kindness and treatment she received. All the staff are under pressure, and I witnessed myself the difficult situations staff have to deal with including relatives being rude and demanding. My mums experience was very positive, and we are all very thankful for the care she received.

  7. Review titled Elderly patient needs ignored

    by corridorpj56 - Posted on 08 September 2022

My elderly Mum who has vascular dementia & Alzheimer’s was taken for x rays. The ECG & blood pressure cuff leads were disconnected and these weren’t plugged back in again. She is quite restless & now has leads wrapped around her & a heavy unit was sitting on her leg! I went to the central desk & stood in front of a member of staff, so that I could ask if my Mum could have something to eat - completely ignored. Stopped a nurse walking past, she said she would tell the nurse - nothing happened. Mum told me she needed to go to the loo, her mobility is poor, so she needed at least help, a walking frame & commode. Asked a nurse, who said they were dealing with something else. Another nurse was using the sink & bins in Mum’s cubicle, so I asked about Mum going to the toilet, having something to eat & drink & if the leads etc could be put back where they should be. They told me they had finished & the nurse coming on would do it. I am certain she soiled herself, no dignity for her at all.

  9. Review titled Impossible to contact! - extremely poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 September 2022

I was given a 2 week wait (cancer) referral by my gp, to which I had to chase myself to get the appointment. I only managed to get booked in as I asked my gp surgery to chase up. Since attending my appointment, I have been told I need an urgent procedure done and would be contacted. 5 weeks later I am still waiting to hear anything, as well as no one in the Dermatology Department ever answering the phone! I have called numerous times for the last month and not had one phone call answered. Other than physically going down to the hospital myself, I am unsure how I am supposed to get an appointment. I don't see the point in these '2 week wait" appointments if you then never get contacted for further follow ups. I would not recommend using Croydon Hospital for any Dermatology appointments, as they are impossible to contact! When you try to contact the pals and complaints department, leave a message...they appear to never answer their phones or return message either!! Ironic!

  10. Review titled Brilliant treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Debbie Beaumont - Posted on 25 August 2022

I visited this hospital recently on an outpatients appointment for a procedure in Gynaecology Department. I was nervous but the staff reassured me and they were all , (including surgeon and nurses) very experienced, attentive, caring and knowledgable. The appointment was on time and I was very impressed with the service I received. The staff talked me through the procedure and how it may feel and this really help to put me at ease. Thank you Gynaecology Department.
