During my pregnancy I had got a UTI which was worrying as I was bleeding so I went to the Cumberland infirmary as my local hospital is closed on a weekend and I met a midwife who was amazing, she was so kind and very attentive to the care I needed. She listened to everything I said including talking about my family life. I then fell sick about 4 weeks after that incident and I got the same midwife again and she was so lovely once again - this time having to stay overnight and she was just a star. I then went into labour 4 weeks after that and I rang them and to hear her voice and her ask me if I had childcare for my first child made me so happy, I was so happy to have her be part of the birth and I knew she had listened to me at both appointments as she remembered my first borns name and knew who would be watching him whilst I birthed my second child. Just an overall amazing experience and that’s all down to the midwife I had. The student midwife who delivered my baby was equally as lovely and went above and beyond to help and give me professional care. If I have any more babies in the future I would definitely go back to the Cumberland Infirmary. Thank you to all the great staff in the maternity ward ✨💗

I had to stay in Aspen ward overnight following thyroid surgery,and the nurses and staff were brilliant.They were very busy,but,still made time to make feel welcome and comfortable.Very professional,but with a human touch.

On Sunday 14th August 2022 I was transferred from WCH to Carlisle on a rapid run having contracted a life threatening virus which was spreading up my upper left thigh and groin, There I was met by a surgical team at the door and moved to surgery, I had to return to surgery on 3 more occasions in the following days, I would like to convey to the team that dealt with me my most sincere thanks for all of the work they did to ensure I remain alive and kicking.. Without them and their skills and professionalism I am certain I would not be sat here today typing this.. again My Deepest Thanks to all of you

I would just like to thank the consultant & nursing staff who looked after me on my visit to the Urology Department on Tuesday 12th. The care & service I received was excellent & all involved deserve a Big Thank You.

Had to be rushed to a and e with gall bladder pains, I was in for six days and looked after very well, with regards to visiting I was told it was one person for one hour, and I asked a nurse if could split this with my husband for half an hour and my brother for the other half,I was told that was fine so my brother drove a fair way to see me but was told by another nurse that this wasn't allowed, you might want to make sure all your staff have the correct information

I would rate my stay at the cumberland infirmary, within the maternity ward as above and beyond excellent. The staff including domestic, health care, doctors midwives and porters, are caring and kind, and the NHS are lucky to have them. I am also lucky, as without them my daughter and myself would not be here. Even when under staffed and busy, they still help and never complained under the stress. Always answering questions no matter how "silly" they may seem. They definitely deserve more recognition for their hardwork.

Excellent from the paramedics in the ambulance to the A&E staff and the Maxillo Facial team that stitched me up after a fall. Thanks for all your care, kindness and friendly approach throughout.
