    Thank you to all the amazing staff on Juniper Ward. I was nursed by an amazing team and cannot thank them all enough. They were there for me without any question and have helped my early recovery above and beyond .

    Arrived at A&E at 22:40 and was triaged an hour and 20 minutes later asked for pain relief and was told they would get it proscribed by the doctor, so I took a seat back in the waiting room and was still waiting for the pain relief 2.30 hours later. The department every time I come here the department is always understaffed and no seems too care about patient safety.

We are sorry that you had to wait a while to be triaged and then another wait to be given pain relief. Please be assured that we take patient safety extremely seriously.     My mother was told by 111 to go to a and e after having heart palpitations and dizzy Ness with her BP reading at hypertension danger levels when taken she went to a and e at darenth valley at midnight she did not get seen until 930 am all night she sat on a chair cold and cried she is 75 years old for god sake what is wrong with the people that work there that could do that to a human being and when she was finally seen they said please just tell your GP. I would never ever want anyone else parent or grand parent or any human being to lose a while nights sleep fee rough tired In pain In danger of having a heart attack or a stroke just left there like they don't matter! So upsetting and so out of order what can be happening there in that hospital for that many hours that someone just one staff member could not Have said that go home call Ur gp earlier at the beginning when arriving if they thought that 111 advise was incorrect ! So upset that this happened to my mum she works hard all these years and did not get the help she needed when she needed it.

    We are sorry that your mother had such a long wait within our Emergency Department (ED). Unfortunately, our ED department is extremely busy with some very unwell patients, and attendees are triaged in priority order. Although we fully appreciate your worry and concern that your mother spent the night in the department waiting to be seen by a doctor after she had been assessed.     Heart attack ambulance 12 minutes straight into resuss multiple tests moved around a bit until into cardio ward then stent inserted and home. Can't fault the care and the follow up was excellent including nurses at darenth valley queen Mary's and St Thomas referral gp follow up also spot on Amazed that every one of multiple follow up appointments was on time or earlier! Doctors and nurses very professional and hard working and attentive. Good experience all round never felt better Thank you

    My aunt was admitted nearly a fortnight ago. Trying to ring up and find out what ward she was in was a nightmare. If the phone doesn't get answered in a minute or so you get cut off. Talking with her care team leader yesterday I was amazed when she said did I know where my aunt was as Darent Hospital said she had never been admitted but had been discharged on the same day she went in. I had found out what ward my aunt was on and had spoken with her on the phone. A lovely neighbour had been visiting each day and was able to tell me where she was and where they were moving her to, that day, tomorrow, the day after. They didn't have a clue. Is it really my job to advise her care team where she is because the hospital doesn't have a clue? So glad I live 300 miles away and won't ever have the delightful experience of this hospital myself.

    We were sorry to read that our service didn't meet your expectations and certainly understand your frustration of trying to locate your aunt. We do advise friends and family members, where possible to have one point of contact with a patients progress as this frees up staff time from repeated phone calls but appreciate sometimes this is not always possible.
