Review titled Carer experience x2 visits
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Keith Appleby - Posted on 23 April 2023
Was great having a health care assistant in the dept doing ops and responding as required 1st visit was a really positive experience The 2nd visit was marked by the triage sisters attitude don't think in 42 years in the NHS I ever cut a carer off so abruptly either as a ward manager, clinical nurse manager, general manager or head of clinical pathways as she cut me off but I held my tongue so my partners care was not effected. ENT staff, reception and majority of A&E staff was outstanding efficient caring and professional but I will certainly remember the negative experience. But overall a great experience

Review titled Great patient experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I did have to wait nearly 4 months for this appointment. However, I had a very positive experience at the ophthalmology outpatient department today. Because patients can be there a while, a free hot drink was offered which was well received by patients . The ophthalmologist explained my diagnosis in a way which was easy for me to understand . He gave time for me to ask questions and gave me some helpful advice. All the staff in the department were friendly and explained what they were doing. It was my first time at the clinic and I was anxious, but the staff were great.Thank you

Review titled Shocking hospital
Rated 1 star out of 5

After attending a and e department 10 hours and 47 minutes and still waiting for an 81 year old lady is not acceptable. I would suggest this hospital is either closed down or they all go back to school and learn management skills . This review was written whilst still waiting to be seen . I understand the NHS is under pressure but this goes beyond ridiculous.

Review titled Exemplary practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jan Sargeant - Posted on 28 March 2023
Admitted from A&E to ward 34 at the weekend. Treated promptly and with immense care by nurses and doctors in A&E, who really seem to know how and when to prioritise patients in ways other than red tape charts. The nurses and doctors on ward 34 were equally impressive. They were so caring, and never made any patient feel like they were a nuisance or an inconvenience. They ran thorough tests over a weekend - unheard of in my local hospital - and followed up on the Monday. Consultants who are able to listen to patients as if they are people and they can think outside the box. I was so impressed by this place that I’ve requested a transfer from my local hospital to their opthamology/eye clinic in spite of a round trip of 154 miles. Thank you, Darlington Hospital.

Review titled Best day surgery team ever
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jennifer Ruston - Posted on 11 February 2023
Everyone in the waiting room was treated as if they were the omly one who mattered. The team worked together seamlessly. They made each person feel as if they really cared about them and took away any fears we might have had. From reception to leaving I was more impressed than I can put on paper here. Everything was explained in a caring manner from surgeon to staff nurse and her wonderful 'family' team. Many thanks to you all.
