I just want to say that although I was terrified of having the procedure the staff were wonderful with me and couldn't have been more caring. I felt extremely well cared for.

Review titled Appalling attitudes
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 February 2024
Absolutely appalling attitudes from staff went to ask how much longer until I was triaged after waiting well over an hour my symptoms were getting worse and I was just told I just had to sit and wait and then they called the next person forward and I had to sit on the floor of the a&E waiting room due to there being no chairs apart from in the children's bit where I wasn't allowed to sit.

Had to go to a&e after collapsing. I was looked after brilliantly from the triage nurse to the doctor. Excellent staff working under extreme pressure. You all do an amazing job

Review titled Left to suffer
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Val - Posted on 16 January 2024
Checked in my wife with her details and symptons after she was told by her doctor she needed to have a xray due to strong pain in her ribs after falling down full flight of stairs. Waited 1 hr and then called. Lady wanted to know the same details already told when we checked in. After that was again asked to wait & told it wont be long a wait in the not so busy waiting room. Waited another 2 hrs while seeing some not so emergency cases come and go. Due to my wife feeling very uncomfortable sitting on a chair for 3 hrs. Her ribs paining her. I decided enough was enough & told the receptionest I needed to go home to give my wife a rest from the pain she endured while sitting for 3 hrs with suspected rib issues. No one seemed bothered. So I took her home to rest in a more confortable position. Extreemly disatisfied with the lack of care or concern shown to my wife.

Review titled Very Long Waiting Times and Unsympathetic Consultant
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Daniel Thomas Reed - Posted on 26 February 2024
Initially referred to ENT July 2023, took till January 2024 to get an appointment. When I eventually got to see a consultation he spent very little time carrying out a thorough physical examination and readings previous history notes. He seemed very cold and unsympathetic to my diagnosis and offered little to no explanation to why I've suddenly gone deaf. Only the nurse who was present gave me any meaningful reassurance and actually seemed like she genuinely cared. Now 6 weeks has passed and i still haven't been fitted with hearing aids or had any inclination when i might get a appointment.

Today I attended the X-ray department for a barium scan. Both members of staff I was looked after by were absolutely fantastic, introducing themselves and explaining everything very well. Absolute credit for the hospital and much appreciated by myself making the experience much easier to deal with

Review titled Appalling

15 hours wait for ambulance for my father, 12 hours in a&e following 3 falls in a short period of time and experiencing back pain. Ct scan showed some fractures in lumbar spine. Dad was discharged to come back following day for mri. It was clear Dad couldnt walk, he was sent home where he had no electricity and no help. He clearly looked unwell. Following mri the next day he was sent back to a&e and admitted to ward the day after. No one contacted me as nok and i had to ring the hospital to find out where my dad was. I asked why he was discharged one day to be admitted the following day and i was told he was "clinically well". When i asked how he was looking the day he was waiting for ward bed (less than 24 hours later) i was told dad looked "very unwell". He is currently bed bound and told not to go to the toilet on his own as not supposed to be walking as he has multiple lumbar spine fractures. I would like an explanation as to why dad was discharged in the first place to go home with known spinal fractures as a vulnerable older adult with no external support (family live 2 hours away) to be readmitted as no. Weight bearing. He has been treated disgustingly. It was obvious to the staff who put him in the taxi home he couldn't walk and was in pain. Taxi driver wasnt allowed to help him in his home and not his job. Considering dad gets hospital transport to appts for cancer follow up appts it is obvious he has mobility problems at the best of times. As a former nhs employee at another hospital, i am beyond disgusted.

Review titled Great Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Had some heart issues and bearing in mind the current state of the NHS feared the worst regarding consultations, tests and feedback. Can only say from start to finish, the whole process was reassuring, communicated well and the speed of everything amazing. I have nothing but praise for the Cardiology dept at Grimsby hospital, it’s what the NHS was founded for, and why we have the best health service in the world.
