  1. Review titled exceptional practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Leslie William Steventon - Posted on 29 January 2024

The doctor asked a lot of questions and examination before going through his recommendation. This was done in an easy to understand, not rushed and in a very calm manner. I cannot rate this experience highly enough.

  2. Review titled Bleeding

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Hanna - Posted on 15 February 2024

I had been waiting to see my gynecologist for about 9 months. I had complaints of non-menstrual bleeding. The doctor prescribed me hormonal pills and the next appointment in three months. Although actually it will be in 4. Taking the medication only increased the bleeding. In total in May will be a year as I have bleeding but I do not see the result of treatment. I also had an ultrasound, which I did. And hopefully the doctor will send the results as she promised. I also think that with my problem I should do a test for cancer. Because regular bleeding can be one of the symptoms. In general I don't like that a person with such a serious problem can't get timely help. And I also tried to ask for a visit to the doctor earlier but my visit was canceled, which only confirms that I live in waiting again.

  5. Review titled Over 20 hours in A&E and counting

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Andy - Posted on 21 January 2024

I have been sitting in my car for 20 hours outside A&E whilst my wife is in the waiting area with her 88 year old mother. No bed despite an admission being approved several hours into the wait. All the time spent on two chairs. Only one relative allowed in. Still no bed and looking at another night on chairs. This is inhumane.

  6. Review titled Great experience!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lauren Myson - Posted on 03 June 2024

I wanted to leave a review to try and give something back to the fantastic staff on the Maternity ward at Bassetlaw. I gave birth to my son in January and could not fault one aspect of our experience there. Being admitted to the ward at 37 weeks following a routine appointment was extremely worrying, but everyone was amazing in looking after myself and my husband whilst we waited for our little boy to arrive. After being admitted to the labour ward, we were introduced to the amazing widwives that were going to be looking after us and these ladies ensured that we were relaxed and looked after through every moment of the labour. The surgery that followed was also extremely daunting, having to leave my hour old baby with my husband, but I was made to feel calm and re-assured that everything was ok by the brilliant team that were looking after me. When back on the ward, every single member of the team made us feel comfortable and helped with absolutely everything they could. The following days were difficult with needing to return the ward for further treatments for my son, but we were always greeted with smiling faces and people who genuinely wanted to help and make sure everything was ok for us. I will be forever grateful for our labour story being so positive and it's all down to the amazing team on the ward. Thank you so much!

  8. Review titled Outstanding care from the children’s observation unit team!

    by KC90 - Posted on 12 December 2023

My daughter was sent to the observation unit at DRI with suspected appendicitis in early December. Luckily it turned out to be a virus and a UTI, but it was very scary for both of us. The staff were absolutely outstanding. I will be eternally grateful to the healthcare assistant who held my daughter's hands with me while the lovely doctor cannulated her, who went above and beyond to ensure I had a hot drink and somewhere comfy to sleep for the night and for the extra blankets. The fabulous doctor was so respectful of the the fact that our knowledge was limited and explained everything thoroughly, in simple terms ensuing we understood everything. The staff on the ward made a bad situation feel a little less daunting, so on behalf of myself and my daughter I’d like to express my gratitude.

  9. Review titled Terrible place

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 December 2023

Absolutely shocking experience at DRI. I went up at half 2 in the afternoon and was still stood there at half 9 due to how busy it was. I was lied to and told I was next to be seen on 3 occasions and then had to wait a further 3 hours. Staff all night were rude and did nothing but lie telling me what I wanted to hear. When I told one staff I was feeling very faint and was going to pass out her response was ‘ well at least you’re in the right place’. Another staff shouted at me and spoke to both me and my partner on separate occasions. In the end I have to leave as I was told over and over i would only be waiting an hour to only been stoood there 7 hours later. Shocking to say I was admitted by ambulance for extreme bleeding.

  10. Review titled Won’t ever forget this awful experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Gillian Devlin - Posted on 15 November 2023

Was told I couldn’t stay in the waiting area while my husband had his procedure. The waiting room & Departure lounge were empty, but the protocol was no waiting. I asked the reason for this, but no one knew. I wandered around the hospital for 2.5 hours upset & anxious. Our greatest fear was finally confirmed. Have some compassion DRI. The way we were treated at the start of my husband’s cancer journey will stay with me forever. Shocking.
