I attended as an outpatient for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy this morning. I just what to say that every member of staff in that dept are fantastic. Efficient , Friendly and so good at putting you at your ease . That includes the receptionist the staff who conducted the procedure and the lovely ladies in the recovery room. Thankyou for the tea and biscuits

Review titled Excellent Care

Visited Ophthalmology & Orthotics for my 7 year old son who's never been to any type of hospital appointment before so he was a little anxious. Drom the first lady we seen right until the last person, They were all brilliant with him, caring, very much on his level, spoke to my son in a way he understood and made sure he understood what was going to happen. As parents they were very informative, explained everything so clearly and we never felt we were rushed and any questions were answered. Just a brilliant team altogether. Thank you for great care 😊

Review titled Exemplary service!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Christopher Nowak - Posted on 03 September 2024
I had occasion to visit A&E this morning at 8 am due to having a severe pain on the left side of my back, made worse when I took a deep breath. I was seen by the triage team and didn't have to wait long before I had bloods taken and an ECG. I was then seen shortly after by a young lady doctor in training who was extremely professional and empathetic. After examining me she called another doctor in to see me. He giving me a full examination and asking pertinent questions he said he would send me for a chedt xray. After i came back he said he would like to use ultrasound to check my aorta and abdomen. After doing this he brought in his colleague, another doctor, to check his findings. He did this very thoroughly and to confirm his findings as for a consultant to come in and look at the ultrasound imagery. They confirmed I had a cyst on my left kidney but couldn't see any other issues apart from an infection in my lower left side. I was given a course of antibiotics and told to come back if the pain worsened or didn't go in a few days. All in all I was there for approximately 4 hours. The treatment I received was absolutely excellent from all concerned and their actions, professionalism and care showed me why we have the best health service in the world!

Today I had a colonoscopy at DRI, the staff were superb and a credit to the NHS. I was put at ease right from the start and talked thru every step of the procedure. It was not as bad as you might imagine, Fortunately mine was clear of anything nasty but I urge you to do this as it could save lives by early detection and treatment of anything found. Thank you all so much.

Review titled A better way
Rated 1 star out of 5

There must be a better way to run the respiratory consultation service than once a week. The Doctor told my wife she's got lung cancer after a Bronchoscopy and we'll be in-touch, biopsy result will be in 2 weeks. It will be a month before we know what's happening. All the time she's suffering and getting worse and has been told to take paracetamol. We are going out of our mind with worry. She can only find anything out on a Tuesday, and if she isn't discussed then it'll be another week.
