  1. Review titled Superb service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Peter - Posted on 05 December 2024

I have just returned from the Freeman. Everyone whom I had contact was friendly and reassuring. The nursing staff were all caring and let me talk and were gentle and compassionate in their actions. The porter who took me to theatre was again friendly and chatty and helped put me at my ease. The Consultant had been up to see me to explain the procedure ( I am being investigated for a possible malignancy) and was friendly and very approachable. My anaesthetic was very well administered and I awoke pain free and actually more comfortable that I had been in weeks. Returning to the ward, I was greeted like a returning friend and nothing seemed too much trouble. The hospital was very clean and the ward well run. Contact with me prior to the op was quick and informative. In short, the hospital was fantastic and I would have no hesitation in giving them a five star review.

Visited the Vascular Clinic(D) today, 27 Nov 24, and my whole experience from Outpatients Dept to Clinic D was exceptional. Staff very friendly and polite. Was seen by a specialist from Vascular team and she couldn't have done more, professional, charming, knowledgeable etc. Well done Freeman Hospital staff.

The care received in both the urology department and urgent admission ward was excellent. All of the staff were clinically informed and they were so caring

The staff were highly dedicated as well as compassionate for my situation. You should be very proud, they are a great team on ward 32. On the downside I have to say that the food was simply appalling, extremely poor quality and devoid of any taste whatsoever.

  5. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My Mum attended the Urology day unit to have a small procedure and more recently, to have a follow up test in Nuclear Science. May I congratulate all departments we have attended but in particular the day unit for their efficiency, politeness and excellent care. Both the main entrance and outpatients are immaculately clean, well organised and with plenty of wheelchairs. On one occasion, we were taken to our destination by a lovely volunteer, who wheeled Mum from the front door to the department we needed. The appointment letters received are clear and concise with straightforward instructions of how to reach departments. The internet is also very informative with regard to access of car parks and departments. We have visited most of the hospitals in the North East area over the last 2 years and I can say without hesitation, Freeman hospital is by far the best in the region. Well done and thank you to all medical staff, receptionists and volunteers.

  6. Review titled exceptional care

My grandson was transferred to Freemans in July. The level of service from all staff, was exemplary. The clear professionalism and their ability to communicate with great empathy and understanding gave us so much confidence and trust. It is clear that all the staff are highly skilled and dedicated to their jobs. If all hospitals in the UK displayed qualities shown by Freemans staff then the NHS would truly be the best in the world. Freemans staff saved my grandsons life, we can't thank everyone involved in his care enough.

I was on Ward 19 and the staff - doctors, nurses, physios, and cleaner - were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble to them even though they appeared to be short staffed. They made a very nervous lady feel great. Thank you
