Having recently received treatment for pulmonary embolisms I want to say how brilliant I found the a&e staff and those on the amu. My experience has been an 'eye opener'. Every member of staff who had dealings with me were highly professional and extremely caring. Thank you so much!

Day surgery for cardioversion needed because of AF. I was very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff from the consultant and anaesthetist downwards. Very professional throughout. Totally recommend this team!

Review titled Not good
Rated 1 star out of 5

Very upsetting experience. A & E visited twice. Second time the following day was for an MRI. Was in A & E 14 hours and an overnight stay on ward 1. Would not recommend this hospital. I'm not allowed to put my full experience on here as apparently certain things are not allowed, but I have posted a review elsewhere on a site that has no connection to the NHS. I'd just also add that my pain was made worse by the fact that I had to provide my own pain medication on the whole. Thank goodness I had brought it with me. Care, compassion, dignity and respect pretty much none existent. I'm still stressed about my ordeal now two days later. Just wish I'd never gone.

Review titled Fantastic

My review begins in A &E from The second I arrived, triage nurse brilliant, doctors nurses everyone so attentive profession and kept me at ease. Then transferred to ward six assessment /stroke unit. I didn’t have a stroke but that’s what they were looking for with a barrage of test , bloods , cardiologist, stroke team, Ct scan , MRI. Physiotherapist. The doctors , consultant and nurses , absolutely fabulous. Could not have received any better care!!! 100% to the staff at fgh !!

Review titled Fantastic care and support throughout!
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Came to Barrow hospital after days of vomiting and diarrhea in a right state. From the minute I got into the ambulance, to the hospital, through A and E, moved to Acute Ward and eventually gynecology I was treat so well. Staff reassurance throughout, the best care, I felt like had an input in my care also and was heard. I can safely say it is the best hospital I have ever been too. I live out of area and literally felt right at home in a safe space to heal and get the care I needed. Supportive staff throughout, well done to all the staff for showing me how great our NHS is and how vitally important it is to support it. Thank You again to all staff involved.

Review titled Amazing care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chantelle - Posted on 08 April 2024
I was seen in A&E by a lovely lady on reception and they got sent through to “same day emergency care” whom shouldn’t of taken any more patients as it was past 6pm but they seen me straight away and I was greeted by a lovely nurse G (as I’m not allowed to make) who was so lovely and then seen another very lovely lady who was a nurse practitioner who couldn’t of been more caring kind and lovely she checked everything thoroughly put my mind at ease made me a coffee and went out of her way after a probably very busy day. This type of kindness goes missed a lot and these two lovely lady’s deserve recognition for being so great and caring.

Review titled Amazing

Whilst there was a wait to be seen I can’t fault the care and attention I received. Triage was carried out. The doctor I saw was kind, considerate and put my mind at ease. My care should have been carried out at my GPs but they were too busy to accommodate me. Thankfully the amazing staff at A&E treated me with the upmost respect and their care was outstanding. Thank you.
