  1. Review titled Superb Hospital and Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was in ward 20 in early May of this year and found that the staff was superb making you feel at ease ,they was all very knowledgeable and tentative keep you well informed what was happening at all times. You was felt like a patient and not just a hospital number, which in my way goes a long way in my book. I can not praise the staff highly enough. Excellent superb all round.

  3. Review titled Unbelievably friendly and professional service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by James (Jim) Cregeen - Posted on 06 April 2023

I am not allowed to name the 5 wonderful ladies who took care of me while l was undergoing pre-operation assessment in the sopac clinic, however, they led me through each section like clockwork. As l have diabetes 2 they even made sure l had something to eat at lunchtime and provided me with a lovely mug of coffee to take with it. They confirmed my tasl return ambulance which was on time, but as it happens l was in no rush to leave these caring people or the ambiance they create. May l please send my grateful thanks to one and all.

  5. Review titled 'Urgent' it most certainly wasn't to Glenfield Hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 July 2023

As someone else has also explained, being told you should have an urgent echocardiogram shouldn't mean 6 months. I was sent to another hospital to have the echocardiogram, and they told me "no, our wait list is less than 3 weeks - If your consultant requests an urgent one". And now, 6 months after the echocardiogram I still cannot get anyone to explain the results. I had to badger the hospital to give my Gp the results by letter so that I could get him to explain them to me earlier than this 6 months. (I have to work for a living, and I am not well!) Gp then says "No," Glenfield will have to explain them to you. Glenfield reiterates I will only have this explained to me by a phone call after a further 6 months. That's over a year after a so called "Urgent" request from the consultant to have an echocardiogram, And get the results! There's obviously something on the results that needs to be discussed, but it doesn't appear that this patient is deemed worthy of having a timely discussion - which in itself would be of benefit to My health. God forbid that I have to have any other tests!!! (I will certainly not be entertaining that idea now of course - why would I?...)

  8. Review titled All I can say is thank you to all the staff at Glenfield.

    by SEB2902 - Posted on 14 March 2023

I came to Glenfield Hospital for an ECG clinic as an outpatient. I had been feeling out of breath and to be honest, I felt quite unwell, but I never thought it was to do with my heart. The lovely lady who was doing the ecg told me I had a problem and need to be admitted. I was so scared. I was taken to ward 18, where I saw lots of different medics, everything was explained to me, I was told my heart was not able to function properly, My heart beat was very slow, I was told I needed a pacemaker, but before they could do that, they had to get rid of the fluid in my chest and legs. I had the operation and I felt a lot better afterwards. The staff on Ward 18 were the very best. I can not thank them enough. The treatment in there was excellent & I can not thank them enough. I was then moved to ward 32 for my remaining few days. Again, my treatment and care was outstanding. I think all of the doctors nurses, healthcare workers, cleaners, porters & anybody I missed, Deserve a massive pay raise. They work endlessly, and believe me, some of the patients were confused and not the easiest to handle, yet with kindness, empathy they managed to put the patient at ease. Bless Them. I am being discharged. All I can say is thank you to all the staff at Glenfield.

  9. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Patricia Symons - Posted on 04 March 2023

just returned home from glenfield hospital after having a thoracic operation staying in wards 26 and secu. My surgeon visited me on a daily basis always advising and explaining in great understandable detail. All nursing staff and all auxiliaries were unbelievably kind, considerate, and totally caring. Other than when I had my son 47 years ago I have been fortunate and have never had a previous serious illness,so having an operation and a few days in hospital I was actually quite fearful. oh goodness I was looked after constantly, always with a smile many a laugh too. thank you all

  10. Review titled Good care but

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Julie - Posted on 10 February 2023

My father has been in hospital for five weeks whilst the medical team are doing all they can I feel the lack of communication between medical professionals and patiences families are non existent. I (daughter) haven't received one phone call about my father. I have tried several times but yo no avail. It's frustrating and deeply upsetting My father is 91 registered blind and hard of hearing so he always says to the Dr could you ring my daughter (dad does have capacity) but this in 5 weeks hasn't happened. I'm completely in the dark as what is happening to my father.
