Review titled Extremely Poor and Distressing.
by Lynne M - Posted on 03 November 2024
Visited an elderly Aunt. Richard Salt Unit. Observed what can only be described as a comedy sketch with 5 staff arguing over who had ordered what food at dinner time. My Aunt said she didn't want to eat. I tried to persuade her to have a bite or two but she was adamant she didn't want it. If I hadn't tried, no one else would have. It was truly shocking to see this happening where patients had no support. On our way out the person at the desk, when I asked to be let out, said that will be 10 pounds. 5 in and 5 out. I seriously thought I'd misheard. She repeated it. I tried to laugh but honestly, I was so distressed by this point I wanted to cry. How unprofessional. Another nurse came with a key card and let us out. We had no opportunity to ask how my Aunt was doing. I asked a Nurse who dismissively told me she was on a bank shift and knew nothing. We are left worrying, very upset and angry. My Aunt is still there. I am so worried for her.

Review titled Medical Assessment Unit and Ward 11 First class
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by P Johnson - Posted on 02 November 2024
I had to attend A and E in two days but was then taken in to Medical Assessment Unit by ambulance . All the staff from the cleaners to the Consultants were fantastic. Very caring and looked after me wonderfully well during my 3 days and nights in a side room before my transfer to Ward 11. On arrival at Ward 11 I was immediately called by my first name and made to feel welcome and immediately well looked after . The treatment I received from everyone was all I could have asked for.

Review titled Amazing doctor - Breast Surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 October 2024
I attended to an appointment at the Breast Surgery on 13/10/2024. During my ultrasound scan I was seen by a doctor who went above and beyond to listen to my problem, to resolve it (which I didn’t believe could be done due to a previous experience ) and to make me feel less scared ! I was amazed and I felt so grateful, I couldn’t even express this after the procedure because I was overwhelmed but I really want this doctor to know! Thank you so much for being there on a Sunday morning with such a positive attitude, supportive and professional!

Review titled abrupt staff member
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Jacquie - Posted on 11 October 2024
Following a visit with my grandson to paediatric ed, after been informed by west midlands ambulance service to go directly to ed they would inform the department, as it would be quicker ,on arrival the nurse in charge was rude, abrupt saying ambulance don't inform them go back to reception. It is not what I was told but the manner in which it was said. My grandson did receive good care once through to the department. Maybe some communication training would be in order.

by Vjoh - Posted on 02 September 2024
I returned today for the procedures Dr had decided I needed yesterday. Once again this ward was simply amazing. I went in at 8 and taken to theatre about 9.45 . The porter, doctors, theatre nurses, recovery staff indeed everyone I came into contact with were simply amazing But I need to continue my review of the SAU. These staff were wonderful I am so grateful for the tremendous support and care they gave me and the kindness they all showed by husband . The Cheese sandwich and two cups of tea were very welcome. Thank you SAU - simply the best

Review titled Tremendous Kindess shown
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by VJo - Posted on 01 September 2024
I had to go to A and E for a painful infection. The care I received was second to none. They were so supportive and understanding of my home situation . I got there at 7 and left 5 ½ hours later. I had bloods taken, was seen by a Nurse Practitioner and sent up to Surgical assessment unit. I was treated wonderfully in there too. I have to return in the morning for a procedure under g.a. Obviously wish it could have been done today but they are very busy, more staff needed to help these wonderful caring individuals . Thank you all.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alison Hicken - Posted on 17 September 2024
I came in for a planned colorectal procedure under GA & was very impressed by the surgical team & the hours I spent in recovery. The surgical team put me at ease & explained everything. The team in recovery were so busy yet took so much care over every patient & were kind, compassionate & nothing was too much trouble. I am only sorry that I can’t leave the names of the lovely staff as they deserve to receive my heartfelt thanks. As someone who has spent 30 years in customer service I feel qualified to pass on these comments.
