  1. Review titled Thorough care and great bed side manner

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kadi - Posted on 25 February 2023

The nurse on the night shift L, and the Dr on the day shift W were quick to respond to my needs, really kind and educated in helping me get back to health. If it wasn’t for waiting for a Registrar for discharge, it wouldn’t been a faultless emergency stay

  2. Review titled Parking for Blue Badge holders

    by JC101 - Posted on 01 March 2023

I feel really angry that as a blue badge holder I paid £10.20 to park at Good Hope Hospital. They have removed at least 15 disabled bays with - you can park in the main or overspill car park taking your blue badge to the treatment centre to verify to park free. The whole stupid part is as blue badge holder you struggle to walk and possibly need wide door access. If you take your blue badge when parking in a disabled bay in the main car par your risk getting a fine for not displaying your badge. It would have been a 20 minute walk there and back. I still had to walk and struggle as I couldn't get near to where I needed to be. I watched a lady on crutches struggle so much it must have taken her 30 minutes to get to the doors from the car park.

  4. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just wanted to commend all the midwives and staff that supported me throughout my daughters birth. I felt in such safe hands the whole time and everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, informative and supportive throughout my entire journey (which was a long one!) from the maternity assessment unit to the midwife led unit to the labour ward and then the post natal ward I can’t fault anything thank you so much!

  5. Review titled Cancelled appointment

    by Felse45 - Posted on 20 January 2023

I am totally disgusted at the treatment that I received as I had an appointment booked and a taxi at a cost of twenty pounds to get me there, but on arrival I was informed that the appointment had been cancelled. I accept that I received a phone call on my mobile, but as I was in the garden it rang off before I could get to it and as it said Good Hope Hospital attempted to ring the number back twelve times over subsequent days, but the phone just cut off without even a ringing sound, so I resorted to the land line and when I eventually got through to appointments I was 26th in the queue, so I gave up on it. I have confirmation on my mobile that Monday was the one and only attempt you made, whereas my twelve attempts were logged and I checked my landline and there was no attempt whatsoever on there to contact me. Strangely enough, since Covid we have not left the house as our daughter and granddaughter tend to all our needs, no matter what they might be, so you must admit that I have a justified complaint at my treatment and why I feel so terribly annoyed and out of pocket to a serious amount to an OAP and I feel at the very least I should be remunerated.

  6. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jean Lutwyche - Posted on 28 January 2023

I just want to say how professional welcoming the receptionist at the orthopaedic dept was today. She went beyond her job to find some previous dates I was looking for, even called me over after I had sat down to say she had managed to find the dates I required. Excellent service. I saw the consultant with 10 minutes of appointment time, had an Xray and left within 40 minutes of arriving, brilliant service.

  7. Review titled Amazing care and compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kay Griffith - Posted on 17 January 2023

My Mum was transferred from another hospital. She had to have a lot of tests so we were in unit for three almost three hours. The care and kindness was fabulous. Mum has slight dementia and becomes easily overwhelmed. She was treated with total respect. From the receptionist to the lovely young nurse to the doctor. She was comfortable and cared for.

  8. Review titled Physiotherapy service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2023

Was told by NHS Consultant I needed urgent physio. I kept chasing but was told 3 weeks wait, so I also booked private. The private doctor told me to continue with NHS, but perhaps don’t tell them you’re seeking private treatment. The difference in care and treatment is staggering, i Believe I would have lost use of a limb if I’d solely relied on NHS. They try to cover appointments by telephone instead of face to face and they don’t touch the limb just print and give you a sheet of exercises to do, don’t see same person on next visit. Kept up the appointments as told to do so, but really not worth the parking fee.

  9. Review titled Bronchiecstasis Clinic. Respiratory Dr so reassuring

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Vjo - Posted on 16 January 2023

After a forty plus weeks wait to see someone I got an appointment today with a Dr at the Bronchiecstasis clinic. I was very apprehensive/scared but the Dr (who is extremely knowledgeable on Bronchiecstasis) quickly went out of her way to reassure me. She arranged a chest X-ray and I saw a physiotherapist all within 2 ½ hours . I just wish I had been able to see her earlier as the long waiting list seemed endless and increased my anxiety . This is of course no fault of the fantastic dr.

  10. Review titled Extremely poor communication, extremely poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 December 2022

The A&E should be called the joke department as this what it is, no Doctor in sight all night. The Receptionist was very aggressive and when you asked about the Doctor, the Head nurse said why are you shouting. Most of the patients signed themselves out as there was none of the Staff knew when the Doctor would be there to visit the patients. Extremely poor management
