  2. Review titled Amazing experience in an unfortunate situation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Last night, we ended up in a and e when my daughter needed to have a head injury checked. She ended up with some glue for stitches and monitored for two hours to ensure that she was okay. I am so impressed with the care we recieved. She was well looked after and staff were great at working with my 3 year old. They had a separate waiting room for children which was amazing, as she didn’t have to see some of the things that come into an a and e that are scary for children to see and they even had biscuits and water for them. They really understood the needs of the children in their care. My daughter left not afraid of hospitals, which I believe is all down to the systems and training they have in place.

  4. Review titled Grateful and appreciative for what you do for everybody !

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by E Beadle - Posted on 10 May 2023

I was checked up promptly by the triage nurse, who recognised I had quite severe symptoms and put me straight through to the A and E ward. Every one of the staff I dealt with were clearly busy but did everything they could for me. The treatment began working after a few hours or so after five days of difficulty swallowing, swollen throat, loss of appetite and dehydration. After a couple more hours I was able to go home and could drink again with far less pain and discomfort. I hope not to be coming back too soon though ! A great job you all do. Many thanks.

  5. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just wanted to say thank you to the maternity service. I had great care throughout my pregnancy, going weekly to the maternity assessment unit who were always very kind and sensitive towards my anxiety. I also received great care while in labour even though I didn’t have the experience I expected, my sons birth was still very positive and the care after on the ward was good, even though it was clear they were very short staffed. Was very happy with the care I received throughout my pregnancy and birth. Thank you to everyone who took care of us.

  6. Review titled A&E - Amazing Ambulance crew and A&E Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 May 2023

Regrettably I fell unwell whilst in town, and after recognizing I was having heart symptoms and felt faint I tried to get some fresh air. The first responder in this instance was a local police office who found me on the pavement, and realized I had struck my head. I have no memory myself, but I understand from the Ambulance crew the police officer placed me into the recovery position and called for blue light support. I have little memory of the Ambulance crew until I was in their care in the ambulance itself destined to the Hitchingbrooke hospital. I was feeling extremely frightened but relieved I was being looked after. The crew were fantastic on the journey and very calm with me even though I was in pain and discomfort, on a spinal board in a head brace. I was seen very quickly arriving at the A&E department and moved through triage and luckily began to feel well recovering the feeling in my extremities within a few hours. I was very shaken but seen by a Doctor multiple times, and the A&E nursing team kept very close watch until I was discharged. The nursing team remaining vigilant even to the ensure I was escorted whilst I walked to my taxi. End to end, everyone was extremely kind, very patient and supportive given I was frightened and in pain, and no doubt at times not clearly articulating my learning difficulties and mental health problems. A wonderful crew, and fantastic nursing team.

  8. Review titled Friendly and very informative

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended an appointment with a Consultant in the department on 13/03/2023 after being referred by my GP. My broken ankle and repeat X-rays were explained to me in great detail and my worries eased that all I’m going through is normal! He was so friendly and very informative and the appointment didn’t feel rushed, even though I could see from the number of patients who went in to see him before me, he was obviously very busy.

  9. Review titled Fabulous treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently was admitted for a planned op. I was extremely nervous and was shown real understanding and genuine kindness. Every part of my treatment was explained in a way I could understand and all my concerns were answered. All the staff from the lovely lady on reception to the consultant and anaesthetist were professional but also thoughtful and took time to reassure me. The hospital was sparkling clean and I was seen on time. I cannot fault this hospital and it’s amazing team.

  10. Review titled Excellent care

Following a stroke I was admitted to AAU at Hitchinbrook Hospital. I have no words to describe how caring, kind and helpful all the medical team was. The nurses were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. They noticed the smallest details that any patient might need. I would also like to praise the food provided. Very tasty home cooking, good variety and choice.
