  1. Review titled Well cared for by Emergency Units

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark Andrew Titman - Posted on 28 October 2022

I attended the ED on 12 October 2022 with Chest pains. I passed through the ED, Ambulatory Care Unit and Critical Assessment Unit before transfer to The Royal Papworth on 14 October. The service I received in all departments was excellent. I was seen quickly and processed quickly through ED. When in the Ambulatory Care Unit again I was seen quickly and tests were done quickly. Everything was explained to me clearly and on diagnosis of a Heart Attack I was moved quickly to the Acute Assessment Unit. I spent the majority of my time in the Acute Assessment Unit following the quick assessments in the 2 previous departments. The nurses were great trying to put me at ease and the consultants explained clearly what had happened and what was likely to happen on transfer to Royal Papworth. The Dr that had seen me in the Ambulatory Care Unit came to check on me in the Acute Assessment Unit which was a nice touch as I am sure she was v busy. I was transferred from Hinchingbrooke to Royal Papworth by Ambulance and again the paramedics in the Ambulance were great trying to put me at ease and getting me to Papworth with no fuss and v quickly. I have a bit of a phobia about hospitals (and needles) but everybody did their best to put me at ease and make my stay as comfortable as possible which I greatly appreciate. It is obvious that the staff are under great pressure a lot of the time but they just get stuck in and where possible try to keep things as relaxed as possible and try to bring some humour in where they can. I would like to thank all of the staff, in all of the Departments, involved in my care from 12-14 October.

  2. Review titled Rheumatology department

Rated 1 star out of 5

by gary trusty - Posted on 25 October 2022

Why does it take five weeks to get a x-ray results and they still don't have them and also I have set up system online for N H S website for blood tests results but hinchingbrooke uses another blood testing facility so neither me or my doctor can get them it's. absolute joke this department has gone downhill since it linked to Peterborough hospital used to be very good but now it's a former shadow of it's self

  5. Review titled Fantastic Staff!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kayleigh Burke - Posted on 21 August 2022

I have now had all of my children at hinchingbrook and I have recommended friends to come here also! The midwives and HCAs are absolutely amazing and so caring and helpful. I had complications during my last labour and the following few days after. The Midwives, consultants and HCAs were very supportive and caring!! I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for me during this time. From the start of my pregnancy to the end they have been amazing and I will always recommend hinchingbrook!!

  7. Review titled Amazing A&E experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 July 2022

Had to attend A&E this afternoon. Having had a very unpleasant experience at Peterborough A&E I chose to come here and the difference was like night and day. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by two compassionate and caring receptionists, cared for by a lovely triage nurse and a gentle and kind male nurse and then seen by the most wonderful, thorough doctor. Yes, I had to wait several hours, but everyone did. However, the waiting time was made so much easier because of the calm and kind manner of all the staff who genuinely wanted to help. The doctor also said if things got worse not to hesitate to come back and has made a personal referral for me in order to try to expedite things. Really impressed. Thanks to all.

  8. Review titled Extortionate Car Parking Charge Increase

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Deborah - Posted on 02 August 2022

Yes I know that prices are going up everywhere….. But increasing parking to £3.00 for just one hour, £4.00 for 2 hours, etc. is a huge increase from £2.90 for up to 4 hours. It is totally unfair. It is difficult to park car, walk to appointment, wait to see someone and get back to car in under an hour. This is a tax on the sick and will also put people off visiting patients because there is no way you can visit in under an hour. If they’d put prices up to say £3.00 for up to 2 hours that would be reasonable. I know there are concessions if you have to attend frequently but I have to go 3 times a month for various things and because it’s impossible to get everything completed in under an hour it’s at least £4.00 a time. It would be better to get the guided bus from St Ives to Addenbrookes as saving on fuel and car parking costs as there is a regular service so If I need any future referrals for treatment I’ll be asking my doctor to send me to Addenbrookes as the bus service is better to there. Totally greedy Hinchingbrooke!!!!

  9. Review titled Don't keep you updated on waiting times.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 June 2022

Visited for the first time. We were advised waiting time was 3hr 30min. After 4hr 20min and the time was now 12.20am my husband enquired if the wait would be much longer? He was advised another 1hr 30min at least. We had to leave the hospital as I was in so much pain with arthritis, I couldn't sit in the hard chairs any longer. My husbands arthritis was also hurting. It would have been nice to be kept advised as we would have left a lot sooner as I knew I could not have sat in a hard chair for that length of time without extreme pain. We were aware that once he had been seen my a doctor, there would likely have been a further wait for the procedure to cut the piece of wood out of his arm. We will try again tomorrow at Ely to get the tetanus jab and the procedure completed.
