  1. Review titled Great care

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I want to praise the excellent care given by all the staff at Hinchingbrooke A&E Department to my elderly father on 19th January after he'd had a fall. He couldn't have been looked after better. A huge thank you to all the dedicated staff.

  2. Review titled Continuous cancellation

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 January 2023

My husband was due to have an operation in December. As I'm a school teacher I arranged cover for my class only to have my husband's operation cancelled. His operation was set for 11th January, again I arranged cover for my class and yet again his operation was cancelled this time due to a bed shortage. This cancellation is not helping my husband who is finding it very difficult to cope with and also with me having to arrange and keep cancelling staff cover. This is not what we expected to happen after waiting nearly 3 years.

  4. Review titled Blood test refusing service

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Duing covid, the blood test department had reduced hours. They are now thankfully back to normal hour. 5pm finish!! Sat down at 4:10pm, but no tickets in the machine. Four patients waiting. Told to go away. No new patients. Pretty poor.

  5. Review titled No communication

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Helen Reid - Posted on 12 December 2022

After 3 different doctors medically discharging my mother, it has taken another 10 days to get her 'discharged' and we are still not there yet. In the end, I've arranged care and told them when I needed her transported home to coincide. That was booked for 10am this morning, carers coming in for 2pm, so allowing 4 hours to transport her 16 miles and it is now over 5 hours on and she is still there, apparently in the 'discharge lounge', which is another word for Daisy ward, whose line is constantly busy, as if it is off the hook. Since trying to get my mum discharged I have spoken to many care agencies who all say Hinchingbrooke is the worse for discharging patients. Absolutely terrible, no communication between departments, way too many departments, no one taking responsibility, be prepared to do their jobs for them, and repeat yourself 100 times.

  6. Review titled Wonderful experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue Johnson - Posted on 28 December 2022

I had a hip replacement on 23rd December. All the staff from the Consultant to the nurses, physios and HCAs were kind and caring even though it was over Christmas and they were away from their own families. I was never made to feel a burden or a nuisance even though some of them were clearly exhausted. Thank you for all your care and help.

  7. Review titled Caring ED staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 December 2022

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for the care I received in ED at Hinchingbrooke. When I arrived I was in a lot of pain, and very tired and anxious. I had heard about the trust being on critical capacity, with very long waits in ED and was not keen to attend the hospital when my GP had recommended it. Despite the obvious pressures, every single member of staff I encountered was kind, caring and compassionate, and took time to make sure I was comfortable. Thank you

  9. Review titled communications failure

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anthony Lewis - Posted on 12 October 2022

I had an appointment for 11.05 on the morning of 10th October 2022. I registered and was asked to wait in the waiting area. Later a notice appeared stating that there would be a 30 minute delay. Much later this was changed to a 60 minuted delay. I was eventually seen 78 minutes after the schedule appointment time. I am not complaining that there was a delay, such things are inevitable. My complaint is that no oone bothered to give us any information as to why there was a delay. Additionally, given the inevitability of such delays why is there no water despenser in this area?

  10. Review titled Excellent Treatment and First Rate Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Maisfield - Posted on 09 January 2023

I was a day patient at Hinchingbrooke Hospital on 6th October 2022 when I had my Gall bBadder removed. The treatment I received was first rate and I was able to go home the same day. On the 12th October 2022 I was readmitted via A&E due to a post operative abscess and was an inpatient four nights to 16th October 2022 and would like to provide feedback on my experience. • I was admitted vis A&E and have to say the service provided by this department was first rate despite there being a very considerable workload for staff. • On admission to the ward, I was provided by excellent treatment and the care shown by your staff was exceptional. I was later transferred to Daisy Ward and here the high level of care and support continued. Night staff on both wards were excellent and I greatly appreciated the care they provided. • Medical staff provided ongoing information and support which I appreciated. The treatment I have received at Hinchingbrooke Hospital at a difficult time for the NHS was very good and I wanted to express my thanks. Many thanks Steve Maisfield
