  2. Review titled Amazing care for new babies and mothers

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alison Heard - Posted on 04 February 2023

I gave birth in Feb 2023 and our baby needed a short stay in NICU and SCBU. We cannot put into words how amazing the Homerton teams are in NICU and SCBU - they got our daughter back to health so quickly, and were so communicative throughout the whole thing. We always felt confident in their ability to care for her so closely. The teams who work in Delivery as well as the Templar Ward are equally as astonishingly good at what they do - everything in Delivery runs like clockwork, and I always felt safe and listened to. The staff in surgery made me feel calm which I’ve never felt before in a surgical procedure. Templar Ward - the nurses and midwives there are angels. We were treated like people and the kindness they showed me is something I’ll never forget. My husband and I are forever indebted to everyone in these teams who looked after all of us with such gentle care at a really vulnerable time. Thank you so much.

  3. Review titled Amazing service throughout

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Honestly, I feel so lucky to have such an incredible hospital so close. The stuff were faultless, very friendly and kind, and the tests were very very thorough. We are so lucky to have this service, I’ve lived in America, so trust me, the level of care here is second to none. The doctor and nurse took time to talk me through everything, in a very practical and calm way. I cannot recommend this hospital enough. Thank you so much Homerton!

  4. Review titled Incredible team and service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I arrived at 2 am on a busy Wednesday night, the service and care I received and witnessed was impeccable. Everyone from my porter to X-ray, the staff nurses and primary doctor who had dealt with an incredibly challenging night before I arrived were so professional and put me at ease. I hope not to be back soon but know that with a team like this I’d be in safe hands. Protect the NHS and the wonderful people looking after so many. I support and admire you as so many others do!

  5. Review titled Such excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Miriam Porter - Posted on 10 January 2023

Today, my husband and I visited the early pregnancy unit. I cannot praise the staff there highly enough. The receptionist was so understanding when I first arrived and was clearly upset. She quickly found me an appointment. The nurse we saw twice was so kind and showed so much empathy for two people who were feeling highly anxious. The sonographer showed real care and understanding for our situation and finally the dr listened so carefully and gave us the time we needed. In a time when the nhs is so stretched these individuals cannot be praised highly enough. The humanity they showed whilst doing their jobs made such a difference and I can’t thank them enough.

  6. Review titled Nerve Damage at Oral maxillo-facial at Homerton

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mariam Kochiashvili - Posted on 13 July 2024

I had a coronectomy procedure January 2023 (18 months ago) with Oral maxillo-facial at Homerton Hospital. The procedure is a partial removal of wisdom tooth to avoid nerve damage. However in the process they damaged my other nerve, lingual nerve and left my tongue and inner jaw numb. I spoke to nerve specialist and was told that there is a risk of that happening but they know it is there and *should* avoid damaging it. If they had warned me that there is a risk of this happening, I would have avoided this procedure at all cost. The damage is permanent and there is no way of recovering from it. Even surgery doesn't guarantee a recovery. I would strongly recommend weighing your chances before agreeing do go through this procedure.

  7. Review titled My mother had amazing care

by Khushi - Posted on 27 February 2023

My mother was admitted few nights due to heart attack and stroke, but staff were amazing, on point throughout the night, every minute through the day. They did not leave my mum's sight. I noticed head nurse teaching other nurses things which I learnt while teaching others what to look out for and why it happened and what can we do etc. As I am a carer myself I was amazed, bless whenever I called them they come straight away, didn't get fed up or anything. They talked to my mum even tho mum couldn't talk due to medication given but was nice. They made sure bed was made every day and it was amazing. Thank you team.

  8. Review titled Good service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 February 2023

I came into A&E at the start of the new year with a sprained ankle - was seen in under an hour and referred to xray which was also quite quick. I was given results on the day with advice and later referred to fracture clinic and physio which were very responsive & helped me recover quickly. Great service!

  9. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had been admitted to a and e in the Xmas period. I was was seen quickly, with 1.5 hours. All staff were polite, caring and kind. I stayed over night on the female ward in a and e. They made me feel safe and explained my condition clearly (bacterial infection) as was quite disoriented and anxious. The ward was busy but I felt they were still able to keep things calm. I felt really well looked after and would like to thank the staff who looked after me.

  10. Review titled Discharged back to GP without explanation

by petitregny - Posted on 25 November 2022

After suffering from painful urethritis/prostatitis, my GP referred me to Urology at Homerton Hospital. They performed a cystoscopy, which showed some irritation and a culture showing a bacteria. The consultant asked to see me again within 2 months (as stated in letter), but I had to wait 6 months for my follow-up telephone appointment. On the day on the telephone appointment 6 months later, I was waiting by the phone for the consultant to call, but the call never came through. They claim they tried to reach me, but my phone never rang. Maybe it was a network issue. As a result, I was discharged back to my GP without explanation or anyone talking me through the results. Now, with ongoing pain, I don't know what to do. Should I ask my GP to refer me back to the same service? I am really disappointed and upset at the lack of communication. I don't know what to do next.
