  1. Review titled Good service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I came into A&E at the start of the new year with a sprained ankle - was seen in under an hour and referred to xray which was also quite quick. I was given results on the day with advice and later referred to fracture clinic and physio which were very responsive & helped me recover quickly. Great service!

  2. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had been admitted to a and e in the Xmas period. I was was seen quickly, with 1.5 hours. All staff were polite, caring and kind. I stayed over night on the female ward in a and e. They made me feel safe and explained my condition clearly (bacterial infection) as was quite disoriented and anxious. The ward was busy but I felt they were still able to keep things calm. I felt really well looked after and would like to thank the staff who looked after me.

  3. Review titled Discharged back to GP without explanation

by petitregny - Posted on 25 November 2022

After suffering from painful urethritis/prostatitis, my GP referred me to Urology at Homerton Hospital. They performed a cystoscopy, which showed some irritation and a culture showing a bacteria. The consultant asked to see me again within 2 months (as stated in letter), but I had to wait 6 months for my follow-up telephone appointment. On the day on the telephone appointment 6 months later, I was waiting by the phone for the consultant to call, but the call never came through. They claim they tried to reach me, but my phone never rang. Maybe it was a network issue. As a result, I was discharged back to my GP without explanation or anyone talking me through the results. Now, with ongoing pain, I don't know what to do. Should I ask my GP to refer me back to the same service? I am really disappointed and upset at the lack of communication. I don't know what to do next.

  4. Review titled No services received on my referral case

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 November 2022

I was referred to have a first phone call referral at 13:50pm from the General Genecology department in the hospital. However I did not receive it on the day the treatment was scheduled. I called back the service line where only I could leave a voice message. The same day the service desk called me saying if I did not receive it, I could phone back on another day. Unfortunately I did not receive any on that initial day. I called back on the second day, the same process followed that I left a voice message and someone called me back. The person said someone left a note saying they called me on the first day but no one picked up. Ironically, I kept my close eye on the phone that day and made my time free to await the treatment where my phone record did not have any number in - even the so called 'Private Number'. Then the hospital arranged me on the next day (the 3rd day after the original date treatment) for a phone call same time 13:50pm, disappointedly no one called me again at the scheduled time, and I was keep waiting. This was really disappointing where I assume the same loop was happened again. Really no confidence whether the patients would get the treatment or not ultimately. Seems like it's a lie - no trust at all.

  5. Review titled What a lovely hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended for a first outpatient appointment. The doctor I saw was very thorough and spend almost 45 minutes with me. The doctor took their time to listen to me and gave me some really helpful advice. Everyone I came in to contact with, from main reception, through to outpatients and the staff therein, on to phlebotomy and even to the coffee shop were very pleasant and welcoming. The hospital was clean and bright and staff were easily identifiable. As a veteran working in the NHS myself it was a pleasure being a patient on the other side at the Homerton.
