  1. Review titled Appalling Treatment

Rated 1 star out of 5

An elderly friend was taken into HRI late at night and after being seen was sent home alone at 5am via long winded patient transport apparently nothing wrong. Late the next day they called and wanted him back asap for a CT scan. Now as I write we have been here for hours having finally been seen by a nurse who had no clue why he was here. She said she would get him a cubicle and disappeared…..45 mins later she still hasn’t come back. Friend in agony and all reception say is he’s been referred back in. No clue what’s happening staff don’t care about the extreme pain of an elderly man. To add to the insult and indignity there’s a large poster in the waiting room saying Compassionate Care……I think not!

  2. Review titled Great staff and service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Went with my mum who was suffering with arm and chest pain. The receptionists were welcoming and understanding. We saw the triage nurse who was thorough and kind, saw the health care assistance numerous times for blood pressure checks and taking blood who were apologetic for the long wait and said to ask of we needed anything. Finally, the doctor was lovely and did double checks ro ensure my mum was ok- we were there a total of 10 hours which I know is a long time- many people moaned and groaned about the long wait, forgetting this is a free service;well run department with great staff.

  3. Review titled Just wanted to say thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I got referred to the macular department by specsavers because one eye was losing vision and the colour green, within a week I had my appointment and they were super friendly and patient with me struggling not to blink. The whole process wasn't that long or painful, they confirmed my macular was fine the same day and gave me a referral to Sheffield where unfortunately a cancer was diagnosed. Given how serious it ended up being I just wanted to leave a review saying thankyou especially for the rapid turnaround on everything.

Excellent care from all staff, just complete admiration for the people who work there and have to put up with the constant abuse and awful language from so called patients.

  6. Review titled First class and caring service.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was out walking with a friend. I slipped and injured my knee (seriously?). A 999 call was put in for an ambulance. The ambulance arrived in double quick time. I can’t praise the medics highly enough. They were ultra efficient and capable. However, what shone through most of all was their warmth and re-assurance. An absolute credit to your team. They made a bad and painful experience more bearable.

  8. Review titled Well looked after

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Jackie Ellis - Posted on 04 November 2023

After I had my operation I wasn't very well so was admitted to ward 10, I was near nursing station which I could hear noise all night, however the night staff looked after me very well bringing cups of tea. In the morning it was busy but all nurses and doctors were really friendly and explained very clearly what I had to do when I was home. A big thank you to you all.

  9. Review titled Physiotherapy

Rated 1 star out of 5

Came here to get my long term back pain sorted. Very friendly woman who saw me, great bedside manner. The appointment was a waste of time and money. £16 in bus fares it cost me to be handed a sheet of paper with exercises on (that don’t even work) and a stretch band. I received no physiotherapy. They could have emailed me for what it was worth.
