Made an appointment at the UTC to get a relatively minor injury looked at. Was taken care of within minutes of checking in at reception. Nurses did a great job and I’m very grateful to them. Thanks again!

I needed an operation on my wrist and I was very concerned and worried about it, scared really. On arriving at the day theatre unit I was immediately made to feel safe and welcome, the reception staff, nursing staff, medical staff in fact all staff were friendly and extremely professional, putting me at ease. The operation was completed in a short period of time, and I was given all the support and information I needed, to help me understand what was happening next and over the next 6 to 8 weeks. I cant speak highly enough about this experience and how my care was managed, its a shame not all NHS care is this good and professional.

I visited here for foot surgery. Every member of staff encountered were fantastic and did their best to make me feel comfortable during the procedure.

Unhelpful and uncomapssionate. My wife was in terrible pain and they sent us away. I was disgusted with them! Don't go near this pace.

Having unexpectedly cut my thumb, I rang the 111 service to request an appointment at the Ilkeston Emergency Treatment Centre. I was given an appointment within the hour and was seen within a few minutes of arrival at the hospital. The service provided by the nurses who saw me was excellent, they quickly dealt with all of my questions and concerns, I had my thumb cleaned and dressed and was ready to leave within 15 minutes. It really does make such a big difference when people are kind and understanding to you in these circumstances, so I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to everyone concerned for their professionalism and for looking after me. I feel we are very fortunate to have this service available here in Ilkeston without having to travel to the A&E Departments at Nottingham or Derby. Keep up the good work and thank you !

After an initial contact with nhs111 services I was given an appointment at the urgent treatment centre . This was only 1hour 30 mins after the initial call . After a vey short wait . All the staff were very professional . I was attended to by 3 lovely nurses . EGC , Blood tests , blood pressure all taken care of quickly and efficiently . My problem was identified quickly and I was referred to the derby city for further tests .As a result of there advise I am now over my experience and feeling well again .

I visited the department today unaware that it had changed from a walk in centre and was disgusted at the attitude of the rude receptionist. I explained that I was unaware of the changes and that I had travelled on 2 buses to the hospital as i do not have transport. It was visually obvious that I was in severe foot pain and was having problems walking but she was not interested in trying to help my situation. The receptionist told me to go back home, ring 111, make an appointment and then return for treatment or to catch another bus to Ripley Hospital. When i stated i did not know where Ripley Hospital was she just shrugged her shoulders. Her attitude was disgusting.She then stated that there was no available appointments for the rest of the day so there was no point i ringing 111. There was one only 1 patient waiting in the waiting room. On the way home I was in so much pain I tripped and strained my foot causing more pain. As the receptionist had stated that there were no appointments left for that day I phoned my GP and have to phone back at 8 o clock o the morning.

I attended a booked appointment at the UTC today following a 111 call about a hand injury. Within 1 hour I had been assessed, had an X-ray, received the results and advice - fantastic service from a polite and professional nurse. My only comment would be that I felt very sorry for the receptionist who repeatedly had to explain to people turning up at the door that it was now appointment only - people had been told to attend by their GP’s and some were quite angry at the receptionist simply doing her job. Perhaps this needs to be communicated better.

I understand Ilkeston is no longer a walk in service but this has not been communicated to everyone. I was made to feel very stupid by the incredibly rude receptionist who made me feel it was my fault for not knowing. I remained polite but there is never any excuse for such unpleasantness.

The UTC has unfortunately had to very quickly make some temporary changes to the way their service is delivered at Ilkeston due to unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. We acknowledge that communication with patients could have been better and we are genuinely sorry that this was your experience. We would of course expect staff on duty to take the time to clarify the current arrangements when asked and we apologise that this didn’t happen when you presented at the UTC. I would like to reassure you that there are now signs informing patients of the temporary change, I am sorry if these were not displayed when you attended. Walked into the Urgent Treatment Centre just after 1 o’clock on Wednesday with a badly dislocated finger. I was seen within 10 to 15 minutes. By 3 o’clock I was seen, had two X-rays got finger sorted and got a referral appointment at Royal Derby Hand clinic and was out. This was brilliant speed. Any other hospital, I would still have been in the waiting queue after 4 hours - all the time in some pain. The staff were informative, humorous, talked to me on an adult level and explained everything I needed to know. One of the best NHS experiences I have had. Thank you so much - I really do appreciate the effort you make.
