    Wait 4 hour for the doctor he pass and look for all patients except me every time i go to reception and ask about the doctor the keep lie to me hes coming your the second patient and i was facing a sharp pain and ask about him second time after water 1 and a half hour i saw him in the reception chatting and laughing while patient are wating them the receptionist said he is coming third timecome back to reception ask about him he taking a look for test result after 2 hour more of waiting go back to ask about him the receptionist said he go because he had an emergency in c section

    Brilliant service in Surgical A and E but there is room for improvement: What was brilliant: - NHS. GP at 3.30pm and checked into A and E by 4.30pm. Surgery at 1.30am. - Was in significant amounts of pain and waited in a small private room which was more comfortable than the main waiting room. - Staff working long hours were almost always smiling and checking things like I had blankets on me when I went for tests. - Arrived on ward post-surgery at 2.30am - the night staff on the Gynaecology ward (only ward with beds) were welcoming, kind and supportive. But: - Disappointed by lack of help from the person on the front desk. Arrived without glasses, in pain and in obvious distress and wanted help to get to the lift. They did not listen, asked me to repeat what I wanted and then kept pointing down the hallway. He may not have been able to leave the desk but he did not seem remotely interested in my obvious distress. - A number of times I was told I was getting medication and it failed to arrive. We had to keep reminding nurses and anti nausea meds arrived very late in the process. Some meds arrived that I wasn't expecting and nurses had to be asked what I was taking. - Recovery was on a ward. However, this was difficult when the person in the bed next to me had a visitor from 9am and they sat loud whispering 'non-stop' (not joking here) for 3 hours making rest impossible. I think they were waiting for surgery whilst I was post-surgery. Not sure if this is the norm or just due to bed-shortages. - My emergency contact number did not follow me from A&E to the ward. I didn't have a phone with me and had no way to contact next of kin (who was trying to find me the next day - not the easiest in a hospital this size). - Did not go home with discharge notes - these arrived a week later. Didn't really have any idea of what to expect post surgery. I know the above seems whiney - but all of the above is fixable. And it cannot however take away my gratitude.

    I was very impressed with the care I received after an emergency c section. I felt I was listened to, and my concerns taken seriously, for example I wanted to go home early because I struggle to sleep in a hospital environment and this was respected. I also discussed combination feeding because a lack of sleep has a significant effect on my mental health, and again I was taken seriously. I felt valued and listened to. I never once felt my feelings were dismissed, and overall I had a very positive experience, despite an emergency c section and a baby in nicu.

    I fell and hurt my knee. I was assessed by a great male nurse who continued to be caring when I came from X-ray to be told I had broken my knee. He took the trouble to access a splint and carefully fitted it. I asked to be cared for at Gloucester Hospital, he gave me a letter with all the information and said he had sent the X-rays. He was just so caring and eggy. There was another patient who had difficulty speaking and walking. He was so caring to this man. He got him a sandwich and drink while he waited for a carer to collect him.

    Definitely the best one day case ward for children. thank you to all the staff. They took very professional and respectful care of my son during the surgery. especially one of the nurses who was very nice and made us feel comfortable. Li sa you are definitely the best at what you do and we want to thank you for that. We wish you all the best!

    Having been transferred from Kettering to oxford,due to bleed on the brain, was told 3 times that I was being discharged to be told 3x I'm not,was told from the hospital that they would get me home and yes again lies,i had to get myself home, so it cost me £150 to get a taxi back home Disgusting

    Attended under two week rule. Seen on time, clinical team were very reassuring. Procedure completed efficiently and just exemplary treatment/care. Cannot thank you all enough

    My grandson, aged 9, waited all day for surgery with no food and his mother not even offered a drink and then the doctors decided to cancel. So now they wait for the doctor to decide when they will operate. Daughter and grandson must now drive home an hour away and then repeat the whole thing when he is called. In the meantime he remains in pain. Shocking treatment!

    I visited A and E at 4.30am Sat after some “if this happens go to A and E symptoms”. Every member of staff was thorough, kind, and great at explaining each element. From blood tests, attempts at inserting a cannula (trainee doc had good chat to allow multiple stabs but no success, I didn’t know that anaesthetists have an ultrasound devices to be able to insert cannulas now), CT scan and Dan registrar’s final summary. I’m deaf and a fellow patient kindly listened out for my name being called, the staff intuitively had great communication skills face to face. What made the whole experience special is that I felt seen as a person. Beforehand I was anxious about the state I’d find A and E in, you hear stories, but what I glimpsed was how caring and committed the whole team at A and E are.
