Review titled 5 star Gynaecology Ward
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Charlotte Nelson - Posted on 30 January 2024
the staff in the gynaecology ward are just outstanding. such great practice and procedure, they ensure it’s a comfortable environment, wether you’re there for maternity or otherwise. i was spoken to with such kindness, treated with respect and i was listened to. They are brilliant when it comes to privacy and dignity, and are so very patient. in the daytime, i find the ward to be vibrant yet still respectful to the sleeping mumma’s, the staff are spritely and understanding. i was constantly asked if i was feeling okay, if i needed pain relief, water, they were just so accommodating. The NHS is struggling and with Gynaecology being one of the units of the NHS with the least funding, i am so pleased with how the staff handle it. To the staff, thank you for your help!

I was feeling really unwell and ignored before I got here. Other doctors had made me feel like I was making it up. I got here and the nurses were so lovely, I had a nice place to sit and everyone was so understanding and caring

Review titled Awful service all round
Rated 1 star out of 5

Admitted at 6pm on a Friday night and it wasn't a busy night. Sat waiting to be seen for over 3 hours by the first nurse who was really friendly. Then sat and waited for another 2 hours to be seen by a doctor who then referred us to get a scan. Sat in another waiting room until 1am for them to decide to do blood work. Told it would be an hour. Still awaiting the results at 06:00. Had a CT scan at 03:45 and still awaiting the results at 06:00. Absolutely shocking service with no communication coming from any of the staff as to why it is taking so long or how long they are expecting it to take. Asked for a couple of ibuprofen for pain relief for a sore neck, probably exacerbated by sitting for 12 hours. Which the staff seemed reluctant to give and they didn't even give any pain relief. Shocking experience and a damning endightment of the state of the NHS. I will be going private from now on.

Review titled Critical care unit level 2 JR
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Angela - Posted on 06 January 2024
My father was admitted after a cardiac arrest, and on a ventilator, the nurses and consultant working from the 28th-1st January were absolutely fantastic. It was the most traumatic time for our family and my father passed away peacefully & with dignity on the 1st of January. The team and consultant in the critical care unit on level 2 provided the highest standard of care and did so for my father in the days leading up to his passing. The consultant was faced with so many questions from us as a family but she answered every single one & with kindness & compassion. My father was treated with the highest standards of care, his dignity was of highest priority by the team and the care he received from the team on this ward was the highest standard throughout. We will forever be truly grateful to each & everyone of the team for everything they did for my father. we were and will be forever grateful that our large family could be with my father in his final hours, this time was precious and thank you for allowing us all to have privacy with my father at this time in a private room to day our goodbye’s. The clinical care delivered was outstanding and my pops passed away pain free and comfortable.

Review titled Not satisfied
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Andreia Ramos Emidio Fouto - Posted on 09 November 2023
Waited 4 months for an appointment. To have an appointment in which the Doctor after endoscopy tells me I don’t have something the private ENT doctor told me I have. And that I can check myself on the mirror for a fact that I do, and also CT Scan confirms it? Then prescribed me the same medication I did for 4 months and didn’t work, to do for 2 more months, why should It work now? Thats my question? Unfortunately I Ieft the appointment not trusting much in the skills of the Doctor. I will still have my problem for more 2 months at least. On a positive note, the Doctor was very nice and polite, very friendly, unfortunately it’s not enough.

Review titled Disguising nurse
Rated 1 star out of 5

Yesterday on 10/10/23 at 4pm I have attended my appointment at John Radcliffe Blue outpatients. I was told my appointment is cancelled. Nobody informed me about it. Receptionist told me 'sorry doctor is not here'. I was waiting months for this appointment with very bad chest and travelled for 2 hours to get to outpatient. I told receptionist how unacceptable it is in stern but polite way and that I am not leaving till my appointment is sorted. Receptionist got this unpleasant nurse supposedly in charge. This nurse started shouting at me for being rude and threatened to call security to remove me from the premises. I felt like criminal when I was the one not being looked after or threated right. This nurse has norespect and later laughed at the reception about how 'bad b*es rule'. All waiting are laughed and I never felt so embarrassed. I have been distressed ever since and I worry about going back to this clinic and seeing this abusive nurses

Had an awful 48 hours in very early pregnancy with pain and some bleeding, the staff in gynaecology have been reassuring, friendly, kind and supportive in honestly a horrible time for a wanted pregnancy. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough honestly!
