Review titled First Class Service at John Radcliff A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Derek R - Posted on 21 September 2023
On visiting John Radcliff A&E department with a high pulse rate and heart arrhythmia my case was quickly registered by attentive reception staff and I was instructed to join the queue to see the nurse at the front desk. I had only been in the queue a few moments when I was ushered into the treatment room and swiftly wired up to a ECG monitor. Thankfully the arrhythmia was recorded and within minutes I was in a side ward hooked up to a saline drip and a heart monitor. I was attended to by several very kind nurses and very attentive and patient doctors. All procedures were performed in a dedicated and highly professional manner. The nurses could not have been more caring in putting me at ease and attending to my needs. I am sure that the doctor who questioned me extensively and performed the required examinations can look forward to great future ahead in the medical world. The senior doctor in attendance explained the next steps with a clear, concise and caring manner. When my pulse rate eventually returned to normal I was given medication and referred for further treatment at a later date. One of the nurses ensured I had the means to get safely back home. A very big thank you from me to everyone involved, I will be forever grateful to you all.

Review titled Wonderful team work
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came to the JR women's center to deliver my baby, I needed an emergency C section but thanks to the wonderful team in the delivery ward, I never doubted for a second that me and my baby would be safe. It really was the best I could have felt at such a difficult moment. Everyone knew their job and on top of that they were so friendly and clear in their communication with me. I will always be grateful for their help and care.

Review titled Devoted doctors and nurses
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by christopher melton - Posted on 11 September 2023
I was admitted through accident and emergency who diagnosed my severe headache and unclear thinking resulted from a chronic sub dural haematoma that had to be drained. From the CT scan, through to the surgery through to the removal of the drain I was treated with the utmost respect, sympathy and professionalism. I shared a ward with people with far more disabling symptoms than mine. I was blown away by the way in which the stuff dealt with the patience. If any politician spent even one day on that ward, but especially one night, there would be no argument over salaries of doctors or nurses. Quite simply they are wonderful people.

Review titled Fantastic care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nikki Clarke - Posted on 23 July 2023
I came in for a long awaited operation, from the moment I walked in the doors my care was beyond fantastic. I feel as though I have received 5* care. This hasn’t always been my experience but I’ve am so so thankful to each and every Dr, nurse, healthcare assistant, cleaning, and meal staff who have made this the most possible experience for me. I have felt incredibly safe and each and every question I have had regarding the procedure was listed to and answered without any negativity. I hope to never have another operation and I can leave under the most positive experience it could have been. Thank you

Review titled Car park
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Mark Griffin - Posted on 09 June 2023
Car Park 1 was full at 9.55am. People including myself were amazed all spaces were occupied..it was so stressful.... Queues of cars trying desperately to park...this really needs sorting out..hospital appointments are stressful enough..so disappointed. This should not happen l.

No complaints about cataract surgery for my elderly mother. However, not impressed to find that she had been discharged with medication that had already date expired - 6 weeks prior to the date of her cataract surgery!

Review titled Worst A&E I ever experienced
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 June 2023
When I arrived I had to drive around the car parks for 1 hour and still could not find a place. The A&E was so slow at getting through patients it was very frustrating to watch. Most of them were sitting filling paperwork in. Sick children should now be waiting in A&E to be seen for 6 hours or more!! It’s cruel and clearly the NHS cannot cope with the demand. Yet the government is still building new housing developments everywhere in the surrounding areas which will make things even worse. Has anyone thought about building a new hospital with a proper car park??

Review titled Inappropriate communication
Rated 2 stars out of 5

My son had injured his hand, was in quite a lot of pain and was verbally explaining how much it hurt. The A&E receptionist told him to act like a man, she said ‘it’s only your hand’. I think very inappropriate any way, but my son also has autism, so was highly offended.
