Great experience with my prostate cancer journey with this hospital. Surgery went well to remove prostate. The surgeon was very informative and I knew I was in safe hands. My experience on Clark ward was great. The male staff nurse was a great help and gave good advice. Very satisfied with the nhs

I am undergoing several appointments at this hospital and The Endoscopy dept was one! From the time we entered the department to the time we left everyone was so reassuring and kind! My treatment was done efficiently and with dignity ! With every effort made to make me comfortable. Politeness was shown also to my wife. My wife worked with a Gastro team at a different hospital she was very impressed with Kent & Canterbury!

I recently attended for a colonoscopy, the second attempt at this procedure due to issues with the medication taken beforehand. The same issue occured again but the Doctor was happy to try the procedure. He was very understanding, explained the possible problems but proceeded resulting in a favourable outcome. All the staff in the Endoscopy Unit and the nurses in Recovery were very kind and l was confident having the procedure done. The K&C is a great hospital and l hope the powers that be recognised this.

Review titled Fab Staff!

I attended my vascular appointment, where I saw a fantastic consultant! He was so kind, explanatory and reassuring! He didn't just try to ignore my situation, he said he is going to investigate further! The appointment was on time (although we are always prepared to wait) I felt reassured that something was going to be done 're my problem.

Review titled disinterested staff
Rated 1 star out of 5

We waited 3 hours for my child to be seen by the duty Dr. When we were finally seen the Dr had a terrible bedside manner, appeared disinterested and dismissive and only performed a very cursory examination. They then diagnosed a number of separate conditions that they felt had all appeared this evening at the same time and recommended we give her more of the medication that hadn't helped and see our G.P. for and I quote 'a poo test, a blood test and maybe some scans'. As a medical practitioner myself I had no confidence in the Dr we saw.

Review titled Great staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Fran Offord - Posted on 05 October 2024
I wish to thank the two wonderful caring staff who dealt with a very difficult situation in Surgical Admissions. Our daughter has severe learning disabilities and is needle phobic and needed an MRI under general anaesthetic... the two staff could not have done more to try and make the procedure successful. It was a stressful situation for all of us but they were calm and professional throughout. Their efforts were really appreciated -- thank you.

Review titled Unstoned again!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michael Patrick O'Hara - Posted on 13 September 2024
I had an appointment today with the Stone Specialist at the Lithotripsy Centre where she reviewed my several kidney stone treatments. My scan had shown that there was now no evidence of any stones , but the meeting was so enjoyable that even bad news would have been a pleasure. She was professional, thorough, and made what could have been a routine visit an absolute pleasure. Never mind train drivers - pay rises should go to NHS staff who, like this lady, really make a positive difference to the quality of peoples' lives.....even to old twozzers like me! Thank you.

Review titled Absolutely incredible!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jodie Herzog - Posted on 04 September 2024
Cannot thank the staff enough, efficient, every single one smiled, went out of their way to help without being asked, they were all extremely reassuring, felt unlike a normal hospital environment. Everyone I met or spoke to was so friendly and genuinely cared about the patients, their comfort and needs, and to reassure any anxieties and concerns. Cannot fault anybody. Even the restaurant food was incredible, friendly staff, helpful, good choice of food and drinks too! Cannot thank anyone enough on the Mason Ward for being so accommodating, sweet, gentle and putting me at ease! You guys are an absolute credit to the NHS! I hope other hospitals take notes from Canterbury’s calming environment.

We visited the children’s centre today and were both impressed with the staff and waiting times we had for an assessment. The atmosphere was lovely and everyone was friendly, making us all feel comfortable and happy to be there. Very impressed.

I attended for a knee replacement on 9th August, spent 24 hours in Invicta Ward and have since attended Physio and Same Day Emergency Care unit at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother hospital. The care and attention that I have experienced has been fantastic. I have tried to thank individuals but some will have been missed. This is my chance to thank all concerned for all that has been done to aid my recovery. I am very grateful.
