  1. Review titled Toilets in outpatients

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 June 2024

Recently the toilets near physiotherapy have been made unavailable to patients and visitors where previously we could use them. This leaves just 1 disabled mens toilet and 1 disabled ladies toilet in that area for visitors to use. This has proven extremely difficult for me as I attend weekly to outpatients and often need the toilet frequently. There is always a queue for the one ladies toilet and it's too far to walk to the other toilets near the canteen. Please can we be given access again to the toilets just behind outpatients reception physiotherapy Canterbury hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The Nurse specialist in Rheumatology has been exceptional and extremely proactive in trying to improve my current health condition. I have not included her name but my records will indicate who I am talking about. I want this to be brought to the attention of her line manager as she us an absolute credit to Nursing. I am very grateful for her caring and thoughtful approach to my care. Her communication style is always excellent and her attention to detail is exceptional. She is very trustworthy and always does exactly what she says she will do. She is an excellent ambassador for Rheumatology and the wider NHS.

  7. Review titled No fuss prostate biopsy

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Steve Penny - Posted on 16 May 2024

Had a prostate biopsy. Blurb sent out with my appointment letter, along with what I had read on the internet, had me not looking forward to the biopsy. However, the actual experience was far less traumatic than I expected. While it was the 30-45 minute procedure the blurb suggested, it was only 10 minutes on the table. The whole process was: urine sample given, flow test done, quick 'do I want to ask any questions', then skilled, no nonsense doc and nurse got on with it. The procedure itself is not painful, but the deeper local anaesthetic injections (two) were noticeable. After that, a breeze. Felt a bit of pushing and pulling down below, bit light headed after, and a little blood in urine, but felt very taken care of by caring nursing team. Positive experience all round.

  8. Review titled Radiology mobile unit. Nurse who tk me to app

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sara - Posted on 25 April 2024

Radiology mobile unit. 23/4/24 Had an app k and c hospital for an MRI on my head at the mobile unit. Tuesday 23rd of april 24 at 5.45pm. There was a lovely nurse who picked me up from the waiting area d.Took me to the outside mri unit and was so helpful and compassionate.I have a terrible fear of enclosed spaces. She helped me get on to the bed , get the head cage over me , and allowed me to hold her hand while i was slowly slid into the machine, reassuring me constantly that i was safe. There is no way I would have been able to have got into the machine.Without her help, she was the best member of staff that has helped me with this fear, Compassionate, supportive, and patient.I was so pleased I'm so gratefull to her. I don't know her name . But would like her thanked by someone. Please.

  9. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Trevor Hughes - Posted on 25 April 2024

I had a Kidney biopsy recently and all of the staff on the Marlowe ward were excellent. There were 3 of us patients in one bay and the care we received was second to none. The staff did everything they could to help us and make us comfortable whilst being extremely professional. Everything was explained simply but in plenty of detail and all 3 of us were extremely grateful for the care and attention shown to us. It was a long stay, I was there from 8.15am to 7pm and I was given plenty of food and drink during the whole time. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I had dinner in the ward and I must say I was quite impressed with the standard of the food and that it came quite hot. Not an easy thing to achieve on a large scale. Overall I was very impressed by the whole set up. Thanks.

  10. Review titled Poor telephone communication

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 March 2024

I have tried for an hour on the phone to change an appt for a CT Colonoscopy scan. There was no telephone number on the top of my letter even though it said there was. I have gone through K&C switchboard 5 times, been given numbers to ring, including the QEQM hospital. On getting through have been given different options but non of them connect, the message just keeps repeating. I have been unable to change my appointment. All this because the phone number was omitted from the letter. I have no way of changing this appointment so will just not keep it, wasting a precious appointment. Phoning the hospital and being asked to be put through to the required department doesn't work and needs looking into
