Review titled Terrible Autism assessment.
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 April 2024
Waiting for a response for months without any communication as to weather they are even considering doing an assessment. I have no idea if they even received my forms as I have had nothing. No email. No text nothing. And then to wait years is disgusting.

Review titled Great friendly and caring staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jack White - Posted on 17 November 2023
This is my second experiance of being in K&C for day surgery. All staff were incredibly kind and made me feel at ease. The student nurse on this ward was really lovely and empathetic, she will be a fantastic nurse when she qualifies. Thanks to everyone who made me comfortable, both pre and post operation.

Review titled Unstoned !
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Michael O'Hara - Posted on 09 November 2023
After two attempts by the Lithotripsy Dept. to break up my kidney stones without success I was admitted to Urology where a problem with my Urethra was discovered and a stent fitted. I returned on the 7th of November where the team successfully fragmented the stones and sent them for analysis. I am due to return shortly for final removal of the stent after a course of medication. The purpose of this review is to simply say that from reception through to the entire surgical team and staff in the recovery ward it has been a wonderful experience. Everyone has been so and professional helpful and we had a lot of laughs throughout (except when I was under unconscious in theatre). When I think back to Admiral Lord Nelson's flagship where you were held down by six burly sailors whilst the barber/surgeon worked on you things have certainly moved on!! My wife and I wish to thank everyone in the Urology team for their kindness and fantastic skills. Once the stent has been removed I sincerely trust that I will not have to trouble you again, but you have made an old man very happy! God bless. Mike O'Hara

Review titled Great practice but problems with follow up
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 May 2024
Orthodontist and treatment was great, but now it seems to be impossible to arrange a follow up appointment. I have left messages several times over the past 6 months, but as yet nobody has rung me back to arrange my next appointment.

Review titled Amazing treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nicola Brown - Posted on 21 November 2023
My daughter broke her finger and was treated at k&c . All staff were professional, friendly and treated my daughter with kindness and compassion despite being very busy. A special thank you to the staff member who treated my daughter, she was amazing with how she handled. She has a fear of hospitals, from a previous accident. She didn’t know this, yet her approach was perfect. Thank you for making the experience a positive one.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am so sorry that you are having such a difficult time. Staff should be contacting you if there is an issue with the clinician being able to keep your appointment time, this is the least that should absolutely be expected and I totally understand your frustration during what I'm sure is an already very stressful time for you. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please contact the Patient Voice & Involvement Team via our email address: ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net. We can help by finding out what is happening and get the service to contact you.

Review titled Brilliant staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jackie Morrison - Posted on 11 October 2023
I was admitted for a colonoscopy on Oct 1st.,2023 08.15. My blood sugar was too high. I was put on 2 drips and had my blood sugar tested very regularly. All the staff on the unit were run off their feet, but they looked after me very well indeed. In the end 12.40 ish I was taken for the colonoscopy. I felt some pain despite sedation , but the Doctor and nurses in the room said I’d done very well. On the down side, I tried to phone the department ,re being rung about the procedure. I tried for 30 minutes ,all 3 options. I even rang QEQM endoscopy unit ,but got the same frustrating answer machine. I was rung 2 days before the procedure and felt better for being talked to, coz I had a few important questions re meds etc. I gave the staff on the unit a home made thank you card ,coz they deserved the praise I gave them.

Review titled Contacting Kent and Canterbury Hospital
by Char19 - Posted on 24 October 2023
Following a minor surgery I have a hole in my gum where I had a procedure done. Tried multiple times to call Maxillofacial department by the number given but put into holding loop for over 10 minutes every time - Don't have time to sit waiting for someone to answer the call. The extension number provided doesn't seem to work. Also had same problem trying to call earlier in the year. Emailed the department secretary 5 days after the procedure and still not heard anything. Have had to book a follow up appointment from the procedure with my own NHS dentist but have had to wait 4 days to be seen by them (Being seen by own dentist tomorrow).

Review titled Difficulty in making contact
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Kathleen/ Kate Cliffe - Posted on 09 October 2023
I had trouble with reaching an operator who was very helpful when I did. He put me straight through to orthotics but I could only get a recorded message that quoted times to phone eg. after 1.30pm. I phoned at 3.30 pm on Monday 9th October to no avail ! Nb: this not the first time have had this experience! Is there an email address for this department?

Review titled Restaurant lack of places for patients or visitors
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 October 2023
I had to wait for my partner sometimes who is having treatment and from what I can see the only place to wait, in the bad weather, is the restaurant. But the restaurant is frequently in use by large numbers of staff, not using the eat/drink facilities but just somewhere to sit. This means that there is sometimes not enough spaces for non-staff and very very noisy. There should be somewhere else for staff to have meetings.
