  4. Review titled cardiac investigation

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Jo07 - Posted on 10 November 2023

I visited the cardiac investigation department today with my two year old child who required an echocardiogram. I was apprehensive about how the appointment would go with such a young child. My fears were instantly elevated by everyone that we encountered and in particular the sonographer. She was superb. She was gentle, friendly and warm and both myself and my little one felt at ease. She was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and turned a potentially frightening and stressful experience in to a positive one. Thank you.

  5. Review titled Long wait

Rated 1 star out of 5

I brought my wife via St Luke's, Harborough to Kettering A&E on advice from 111. We arrived at 5.30 on 27th, and are still waiting at 12.30 on 28th! I appreciate we are treated by priority but we have no way of knowing how long will still have to wait, and nobody in charge! Crazy!

  6. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tina White - Posted on 23 January 2024

I've been under endocrine for nearly 3 years for hypercalcaemia , only ever seen consultant once, every 6 months I get a 5 min phone call, have never been given answers as to why calcium is high. Back in November they believed I have hyperthyroidism, did tests, neve had results, despite trying to chase them up and leaving details with secretary, meanwhile my health is deteriorating rapidly

  7. Review titled Treatment Centre - KGH - 4.11.2023

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Angela Lee - Posted on 09 November 2023

Went in on 4.11.2023 for gall bladder removal (Laparoscopic Cholecyctectomy) - I had not had an operation for over 40 years and was very nervous, the staff in Treatment Centre were absolutely wonderful they explained the process and what would happen and they made me feel at ease with no worries and the care I was given was the absolute best by all the NHS Nurses and Doctors and I would like to say a big thank you to all of them, and hope all patients appreciate them!

  8. Review titled Excellent experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Sara - Posted on 07 November 2023

I took my Great Uncle (96 years old) to have his pre-op assessment for his cataract operation yesterday and it was such a good experience that I had to leave a review. We were seen on time, greeted by very friendly nurses who explained just what was going to happen and put his mind at rest. Near the end of the appointment a consultant/surgeon popped his head in and asked if he wanted the surgery there and then, I jumped at the chance, my Uncle not so much! The nurse spoke to him so calmly that he relaxed and agreed to the operation. 30 minuted later all done and dusted, excellent! The staff in the department went above and beyond, even bringing him a cup of tea and a ham sandwich. I can't express just how much we appreciate how he was treated, so a huge thank you to all the staff in the department

  9. Review titled Wonderful people

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Mark Sanders - Posted on 08 December 2023

Discovering a hole in my retina, I was offered laser treatment the same day. During the treatment, I had a seizure (never had one before - very frightening!). The nursing staff leapt into action without drawing breath. A completely unforeseen situation was dealt with as if everybody had been ready and fully prepared for it to happen. Caring nursing staff could not have been more supportive to me and my wife in what was a deeply unpleasant experience. Returning later in the week to have the laser treatment completed, I was naturally extremely anxious. A conversation with the surgeon beforehand put me somewhat at ease. Being greeted by the nursing staff who remembered me from earlier in the week, though I had no recollection of them, having been very much "out of it", was helpful too. And having one particularly special nurse sit with me with a soothing hand on my back, singing gently to me and soothing me through the completion of the laser treatment - you will know who you are - thank you so much:-) - made the experience bearable. I spent the remainder of the day at KGH being ferried about from one test to another to ensure my well-being in light of the seizure. An absolute testament to everything that the NHS should be about.

  10. Review titled Harrowden Ward A

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 October 2023

Our Grampy had been in Harrowden Ward A over the last few weeks. The majority of our family do not live locally but would catch up with our Grampy via video calls. It was apparent that every single staff member had patient care and comfort at the heart of everything they did - he looked very comfortable and was looked after. Unfortunately, he took a turn for the worse and a few family members were travelling down the see him. He passed before we could get there in time, but the staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to sit with him for as long as we wanted. Can not fault anything that we saw, every single staff member is a credit to our NHS service. A huge thank you to the Harrowden A Ward team for everything.
