Attended here following a fall (and fracture). Spent approx 2 1/2-3 hrs at the urgent treatment centre- it was busy and not sufficient doctors/nurses to deal with all the patients. I expected to wait and this is fine though it would be helpful to give people an accurate ish idea of wait times. Waiting isn’t so much of a problem if you receive good care at the end of a wait! Sadly the nurse practitioner I encountered was in a bad mood and had no interest in providing any information or answering questions, their manner was somewhat rude and certainly lacked compassion. Clearly not suited to caring for people. At no stage was I offered any pain relief and other patients at times assisted me with carrying things - taking pity as staff seemed utterly disinterested in the fact that I could not fill in forms and carry bits easily with a broken arm and no pain relief! The radiographer was the exception to my experience and he was kind and helped when asked but other doctor and nurse were unkind and rude, lacked knowledge and resources to help people. Not a great experience

Review titled Trying to contact the hospital
by septemberzc85 - Posted on 01 February 2023
On three occasions I tried to get through to cardiology at King George's. The first call was put through to diagnostics, the second time to Queens cardiology and the third time got through to voice mail. I was asked to leave my details but after the recorded message it said thank you and cut me off. What a nightmare and a shame as the cardiology dept itself was great when I visited.

During my procedure, the staff were amazing, friendly, and professional throughout. I feel anxious when visiting hospitals, but i must commend all the staff in Urology for looking after me.

I went to this hospital for a ECG, upon arrival I was directed by information desk were to go after showing my letter. when I got to the department a lady on the desk was very rude. she just said to me in a snobby manner "we don't see walk in patients" I showed her the letter just to get told " it say there clear as day harold wood hospital" I reply I thought the hospital had closed down. I just got a reply the same manner. "not the cardiology ward we don't see walk in at this hospital" ok I got the wrong hospital as I thought harold wood had closed down years ago, and As the info desk by the entrance of the hospital didn't say anything when I showed them my letter I assumed I was at the right place. But there was no need for the lady on the cardiology desk to be so rude the way she spoke to me. if it was the other way around It would of counted as verbally abusive to staff

What an amazing unit within King George Hospital. Kind thoughtful and caring staff on the ward and in surgery who throughly explained what they were doing and why. I went into hospital extremely stressed everyone made me feel calm and welcome, this definitely helped me. Thankyou

I know I had to wait 6 hours but I’m afraid it’s to be expected. Broke hand. Thank you to Dr, nurses and plaster nurse for all your kind attention. They all deserve a pay increase.
