Review titled Well done Maple Suite
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lorraine R - Posted on 11 September 2024
Very impressed with Urology’s Maple Suite and thanks go to the staff there for treating my mum. Such a good idea to have a dedicated area where scanning and consultation take place away from the general melee of the hospital. Hope this happens with other departments too.

All staff - auxilliary, nursing and medical - were invariably attentive, professional and so very caring despite being so very, very busy. Thank you. The whole area was spotlessy clean and great effort was put in to ensure that we were comfortable. .

Review titled Amazing Dr
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elizabeth Wolfendale - Posted on 03 July 2024
My son partially amputated his finger today and broke it in 2 places. He is only 11. DrMarklew took one look at my sons finger insisted he was given pain relief immediately and advised us to go with him. He dealt with my son the best he could, rushed him through for an x-ray. He came with us and stayed with my son the entire time. He was calling Broomfield Hospital to get through to the plastic surgeons. He kept me up to date with everything he was doing and what was happening with my son. My son is now having emergency surgery tomorrow morning. He did not leave my son's side. He was absolutely amazing! He was kind and caring. He went over and beyond. This review just isn't enough. I wish I could do more to ensure this Dr is praised for what he did for my son today. There is doing your job and then there's going over and beyond. Dr of the year award in my opinion goes to DrMarklew. My son said he is now his friend and he will never ever forget him. Thank you so much!

Review titled Useless and pathetic service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tina Begum - Posted on 31 July 2024
I arrived at 12:30 pm after being referred to the hospital by my gp. The doctors saw me once at 3:30 pm then left me for an hour before sending me to cdu, where I've been waiting since 4:30 pm. It's now 9:06 pm, and I still haven't seen a doctor. The service is pathetic and poor—how can they expect me to wait this long? I have a newborn and a one-year-old at home, and I've been away from them for hours This service is absolutely pathetic and unacceptable. How can they expect patients to wait this long? I have a newborn and a one-year-old at home, and I have been away from them for hours. This level of care is disgraceful. I strongly advise against coming here if you need timely medical attention.

Had an MRI 17/7/2024 -all staff were great, they kept me informed of everything happening answering enquiries. The equipment seemed to be modern ,the environment slick and span .I was very pleased.Signage to aid getting from entrance to MRI could be better, still staff spoken to for directions were most helpful.

Review titled Horrible service
by Mohammad Kaushar - Posted on 05 June 2024
I went in the A&E yesterday at 9pm. I have waited the entire night for a doctor but no one was there to attend me. In that room, two mentally unstable person was with us who kept shouting and screaming the entire night. They were slanging everyone. The entire environment was chaotic and all of us who were already sick became more sick because of the chaotic environment. I am a diabetic patient and have requested for dinner and breakfast but didn’t get any food/drink. How do you expect a patient to be waiting in there for 15 to 20 hours without any food??? After a whole night without any sleep and food as a diabetic patient, I felt even more sick by going to the hospital. Then in the morning I could not tolerate it anymore and so left the hospital by giving a withdrawal notice. If this continues like this, we patients will be not willing to go hospitals anymore and better die at home without getting any medical treatments at least we will get some love and care from our family rather be in the hospital.

I visited the breast clinic today and i was very impressed with the service. All the staff, Drs, nurses, mammographers etc were very friendly and helped reassure me. The clinic was very efficient, i was told it would take 5 hrs but i was finished in less than 3. i am a nurse in a large hospital and patients are often waiting hours to see the Dr and are frustrated but I have always had a good experience at King George's Hospital and will recommend it to others.

Review titled Helpful Staff at King George
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 June 2024
Helpful a&e staff in cdu & Majors, the reception staff were helpful and polite Very very long waiting times in Majors, very sick people and patients on trollies in corridors. Patients sent home with appendix undiagnosed and then returning with burst appendix. The diagnostic process is very very slow, it’s almost like each test cost, so they only do the tests they deem necessary and each test is determined by the result of the earlier test which isn’t always a way to rule out illness. For example, stomach pain, bloods and ultrasound, wait for result and then next investigation step but no, bloods 1st wait 3 hours for result then examination, then sent to majors, wait for ct and then 8 hours for results, in this time the Appendix burst and caused complications. Bloods and a scan would have determined most of what was needed Very very busy environment, not sure why beds have been replaced with reclining broken chairs for sick patients, obviously you would have to be very sick to be in cdu, just causing patients more suffering and pain. No curtains for privacy or dignity. Each chair is arm’s length from the the next so there’s just no privacy when managing pain. They need to put the beds and curtains back. This new set up doesn’t make any sense In cdu the staff on shift on 12.06.2024 were great. Sister m.l and her team were really really good and the night staff. D hcsw was lovely. Sometimes the service is busy and staff can’t deliver the service properly due to this but it’s the attitude that also matters. It’s important to have the right attitude and m.l and her team achieved this
