  1. Review titled No one answers the phone

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I have tried on two occasions to try and phone the Cardiology department but no one answers the phone. Both times I was waiting for 15 minutes for someone to pick up. Why don't you have an email address????

Outstanding Care from start to finish. From reception to X Ray and all the consultants follow up. Really great guys. All the care to start with and in between and after is top grade.

Been twice to Harris birthright for scan and both time I've been very pleased with the staff. However, I am still waiting for 2 scans to be booked . Been on the phone 4and half hours waiting to have someone with no answer yesterday and today I've been on the phone for over an hour with still no answer. This is ridiculous.

  5. Review titled Appalling Farce

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had an appointment on 31st October- I am physically disabled and have an electric wheelchair- a member of staff assisted- sent me information on the ramps, threshold, door widths etc at my request. I had already been waiting over 5 months for this appointment. I phoned the week before to request a manual hoist to be told my appointment had been cancelled- I received no phone call or letter. Allegedly the Consultant deemed it not appropriate to attend due to not living in London - how naive of them- given you can seek treatment anywhere within England. Allegedly the cancellation was sent on a system to inform my Doctors Practice. I at no point was made aware of the cancellation and now because of this individual I have to wait again on the list to be seen - which will be 1 year. The person that took this decision needs to have training - if I had attended- would have been costly to myself without any form of consultation due the cancellation.

  6. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I wish to say a heartfelt thank you for my routine endoscopy experience today at King's. I think probably around 12 members of staff were involved in some way in my care and in every case the care was excellent. A staff member greeted my husband and I and gave us a consent form as we entered the department and directed us to a waiting area.20 mins before my appointment time I was guided through to another area. 3 members of staff, a doctor and 2 nurses there gave me great care, describing the procedure in detail, being careful to obtain informed consent, paying close attention to dating and signing of the consent form. My medical details were carefully taken down, my blood pressure taken and my blood glucose level checked and recorded accurately by the patient and kindly staff members. I had a short wait but my expectations were already informed expectations as I was told I was 7th on the list that morning so I didn't feel forgotten. Once in the small theatre the lead doctor introduced himself and I could clearly see his name badge too. He was training another doctor who actually did the procedure on me. I had a sedative but found the experience a little difficult but felt very reassured to hear several people saying I was doing well and not long now, that sort of thing. This really helped me. In the recovery room the nurse looked after me so very well. My blood pressure and blood oxygen were constantly monitored and the nurse was paying close attention to me. When I coughed on my biscuit shr was with me quickly on case I needed any help. We had some nice chats and I sang to her briefly and she sang to me briefly an old song we found we both knew. How lovely. I found everyone to be informative, reassuring, kind, professional, knowledgeable and attentive. I felt very well cared for indeed and feel so grateful for my great experience today at King's. Please thank all those involved in my care. With all good wishes Wendy 08.09.23

  7. Review titled heart surgery and after care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Christine Hinton - Posted on 23 October 2023

My husband had open heart surgery and I cannot fault any of his care. I believe his surgeon to have been extremely skilled. My husband has recovered very quickly after his operation and was walking uphill to his GP's surgery a day after he was discharged. The nurses too were very skilled and kind. However, when he returned for his six week check up, I was astonished to see a large vending machine in the cardiac outpatients' department which had four shelves of crisps or similar products and two of chocolate bars. This was all there was on offer except for tea/coffee and hot chocolate.

  8. Review titled Lack of care

Rated 1 star out of 5

Triage nurse had sent me to urgent care when I explained to her I am loosing feeling in my Limbs. My limbs went blue before I was moved to the ER. 8 hours in total for a 5 minute interaction with the doctor who did not listen to anything I had to say. Staff extremely unprofessional and uncaring. Receptionists laughing and chatting loudly past 1am. Never again.

  9. Review titled The method these people are using.

    by annette57563 - Posted on 18 October 2023

After seeing a nurse at my surgery, they decided to put me forward for exercises. I had a phone appointment with someone and we were on the line for 45 mins. I answered every question and every question had nothing to do with my breathing. In fact every question was related to my back problem, which is severe. They were not interested in my back injury. I have spoken to my Consultant and they have advised me not to do any exercises without the advise of my Physio as only they know the extent of my injuries and what exercises I can do to make sure I don't end up in a wheelchair. I asked this nurse if they could give me a time to take the phone call. But they said no. I cannot spend every day of my life staying at home just waiting for a phone call, which may not come. I feel like a pawn just to fit someone's slot and not a severely injured human being who is not interested in my health but just wants to fill a slot. Thanks for your letter.

  10. Review titled The Doctors and theatre staff Excellent!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 August 2023

Ancillary staff rude!Nearly run down by Storage cages being moved in the corridor, it was me that had to jump out of the way! Was cold throughout my stay had to ask staff on the ward reception to keep the noise down at Midnight… could not get any answer to the phones, the waiting times were unacceptable.. 7.5 hours to have blood taken!some of the nursing staff seemed under skilled, had to keep asking staff to repeat what they had said because I could not understand the accent’s! All in all a very unpleasant experience! I have been treated at Kings since 2006….it has gone way down hill!!
