Review titled Traumatic birth experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Rebecca Bridgett Farrell - Posted on 27 August 2024
I have had a very bad experience with giving birth at this hospital. Staff are very rude and they lack empathy and professionalism. I went in for an elective c section that suddenly turned into an emergency c section due to the anaesthetic doctor not listening to what I said which caused the baby's heart beat to drop. The intensive care is amazing but the post natal unit is the most terrible place to ever be for a new mum and a new baby. The mid wife was arguing with me when all I wanted was a pain killer recommended by another doctor in the same hospital. She was forcing me to take a pain killer that was not effective. I left the hospital with no pain killers and no idea how to even use the blood thinner shots I was given. Very unprofessional and heartless. I will never forget what I have been through and what my new born baby was going through and I will never forgive them.

Review titled Amazing Doctors
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Nikki Hughes - Posted on 28 August 2024
I spent 8 hours in A&E yesterday with my Mum who was having heart concerns. The doctor was so thorough, clear and kind and made my mum feel like he was leaving no stone unturned. He even asked us to wait so he could discuss the case with another doctor who then came and spoke to us and did a few more tests. We have left the hospital feeling reassured that my mom is now on the right course of action, has been taken very seriously and been listened too. In such a distressing time these doctors and all the staff here on the day 25th August 2024 couldn't have been better. Thank you.

Review titled Brilliant care by all concerned!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John - Posted on 14 August 2024
I had a bladder tumour resectioned today in the day care section under general anaesthetic. I am not great with anything medical but the treatment I received was outstanding from start to finish. Lovely people all the way through the process. If my experience is the norm then you are in good hands here. The anaesthesiologist was so reassuring-I didn’t catch her name but she was an Australian or kiwi lady and was super friendly. Thank you everybody for doing your amazing work. I feel truly humbled by your dedication and expertise. 😘🤩😀

I recently visited A&E and SDEC at Kingston Hospital and want to commend both the doctors I was treated by in these two departments as well as their teams. The doctors were so thorough in their investigations as well as kind and understanding of my concerns ..they certainly went the extra.mile....thank you!

Review titled Just felt like I didn't matter
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I don't go to hospitals very often however in the space of 2 days I visited both Epsom and Kingston and what a difference. At Epsom I felt comfortable considered and cared for. Kingston started with a very difference experience, unfortunately as well as the condition I was attending the hospital for I had tested positively for Covid. I tried to put off the visit but was advised by the clinician I saw in Epsom that they would cater for me as they did in Epsom. Never having been to Kingston before I wasn't aware the the car park is a tenth of the size required to cater efficiently for a hospital of this size, I assume they are trying to get people to use public transport, which would have been very irresponsible considering I had covid. So 30 minutes trying to find a parking space. I have to say that the car park at Epsom is easily accessible and big enough to cater for the hospital size. Obviously I was wearing a mask and thought it best that I do not stand in a queue of people and went to the reception desk and advised the receptionist that I had covid, only to be told I shouldn't even be in the hospital at all. I assistive that means that if you have covid hospitals other than Epsom won't treat you for anything else? I told her that both the doctors I had previously consulted said I had to attend. Her reply was; well your in the hospital now so it makes no difference just join the queue. When I announced I had covid in Epsom they immediately escorted me to private well Ventilated room until they were able to attended to me. I was obviously not feeling my best mainly due to covid and the hold experience was less than satisfactory.

Review titled A truly exceptional service!

I just wanted to take a moment and write a glowing review for a nurse, who works with the Orthopedics team at Kingston Hospital. I brought in my daughter today without an appointment as her dressing was causing her some trouble and pain. A nurse saw us immediately recognised us from our initial meeting and showed so much care, concern and warmth towards us. We were seen by the doctor within 10 mins and all throughout the process, we were treated with utmost care and kindness by both the doctor and nurse. The lovely nurse treated us like we were family, with so much love and care, especially towards my daughter who was nervous about the appointment. She is an example of what a nurse should be and Kingston Hospital is so lucky to have her. I have no doubt she will continue to spread love, kindness and positivity wherever she goes. Thank you for helping a very worried mum today.

I was the birth partner for my daughter on July 2/3rd. I wanted to thank all the obstetric staff for their outstanding care! My particular thanks go to the senior midwife who came in to assist the delivery, her intervention definitely changed the outcome. I will be forever grateful. Her attention to detail to my daughters postnatal care at 1am was exemplary. Thank you.

My father was looked after so well during the night shift in accident and emergency reccess until his heart rate was stable and transferred to the ward. They even made sure the two main people looking after my father that I was checked on and that I was fine.

Review titled Shockingly bad

I arrived 12:08 in pain, my appendix could have burst any time; which will mean, either immediate operation or death. Each patient was seen except of me. Finally, the CT scan was done at 6:45pm and the result was ready 7:40pm. I wasn't able to see the surgeon entire day. I have witnessed at least 50 other patients being seen, taken care of and discharged. Everyone except of me. This is unacceptable and unfair.

Review titled Waiting time
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Lisa - Posted on 16 July 2024
I received a referral in January and am still waiting for someone to get back to me. I am in constant pain and it's affecting my lifestyle, effectively having an increasingly negative impact on my future health. There is no communication or updates and it feels like they just don't care.
