Review titled Encouragement, support and care from the amazing team
by Boymum123 - Posted on 27 December 2023
After 2 previous traumatic births I had started having panic attacks running up to the birth of my 3rd baby. I was so scared and having not properly dealt with the post traumatic stress of my first birth was so anxious about it repeating itself all over again. My amazing community midwife listened to all my concerns and made me feel like I really mattered, she referred me to the consultant midwife. The consultant midwife was equally as amazing, she let me tell her my stories from my previous births, filled in any blanks I could remember from my notes and explained options and helped me design a plan for my next birth. After continual growth scans showing my baby to be larger than expected for his gestational age the consultant sat with me to make a plan about early induction or c section. I was so scared, I knew that a c section wasn't the option for me - but was nervous they would push me into it. After the previous births of my sons. I felt like I had failed and wanted this experience to be so different. The consultant gave me the tome to explain all my concerns and also helped me to make the decision that felt right for me. I was scheduled for an induction later that day. The anxiety built as I was waiting a few days for a bed on labour ward for my waters to be broken- the care I received from the team while i was anxiously waiting was amazing- they had the time to talk me through my anxieties day or night and eventually I was taken up to labour ward and my fabulous community midwife came in to deliver my baby. Having a familiar face made me feel so much more at ease, the delivery team went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and make my experience so much better than the previous births. I was given a brilliant room with the view of the cathedral which as was lit up at night time. My community midwife stayed with me the entire time, her voice was do calming and instructing and during the immense pain was one if the only things I could concentrate on. She made sure to explain all the decisions to me and never pushed me into any options i didn't want but kept calm and instructed me through it. The pains were unbearable and came thick and fast- but at then end when she passed me my perfect, 10lb3 oz baby boy, I was so proud of myself for getting through it and felt like I had finally succeeded- but I could not have done it without the encouragement, support and care from the amazing team- in particular the consultant, my midwife and the consultant midwife. My baby is now 6days old and I am so entirely grateful to these people and their team for helping me and my husband bring our son safely into the world. These people I will never forget and I will always hold a special place in my heart for.

Review titled I felt in very good hands from the moment I arrived
by Dicksie - Posted on 19 January 2024
Was sent to the SEAU unit for assessment after having serious abominable pains on a Sunday morning. The staff were absolutely fantastic, especially Kath the Senior Practitioner??. I felt in very good hands from the moment I arrived until I left. The treatment was excellent and was kept informed at all times. All in all a very satisfactory experience.

Review titled They made a horrific experience manageable
by Joepat - Posted on 05 January 2024
I had a very bad infection in my leg. I was admitted to Shuttleworth Ward and treated with IVABs (Intravenous Antibiotics) it was then decided to operate. Throughout my stay I was treated with care and respect. I have admiration for all the nursing care staff. They made a horrific experience manageable and I am truly thankful for all the care and kindness they have shown me.

by Mr P W Reece - Posted on 25 December 2023
Attend UTC after consultation with 111. We were treated within an hour to the highest standard by all concerned. Despite being Christmas day and all the pressures and negativity surrounding the nhs our experience was nothing more than exemplary. Thanks to all Tom Reece.

Review titled A poor hospital experience
by Badger69 - Posted on 18 December 2023
I had to be at the hospital at 7.00am, but I didn't have my operation till 4.00pm. I could of come in later. When I came round after the operation I found out I was staying in overnight. This was news to me as 2 weeks before, I was going to have the same operation and I would of been let out 2 hours after the operation. What changed in 2 weeks? To top it off, nothing was done to get me to dialysis in the morning. I found this disgraceful as they knew I was staying in over night before the operation. It was only down to me keeping on about after I came round at 5.30pm, that something was done, this was at 12.30am. This is not suitable for someone who needs dialysis. In nearly 24 hours of being in hospital I had 2 drinks and 4 packets of biscuits, and I had to asked for both, no other food was offered. The ONLY good thing was the theatre staff.

Dear Badger69 I am Deeply sorry this happened as this is not the experience we expect for any of our patients. We will be reviewing the process of staggering all our patients going forward. From a perspective of staying overnight I am really sorry this changed on the day of surgery, routinely all our patients are notified in advance at the pre assessment stage, sometimes when seen on the day of surgery by a different Anaesthetic DR the assessment is different, we will be also working on a process for better communications between the pre op team and Anaesthetists assigned on the day of surgery. Once again I apologies you have had this experience. PODP Jason Green Theatres Matron

Review titled Bad experience at Grantham gynaecological dept
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 December 2023
Right from the offset I waited a year for the appointment and I am convinced I only got one because I rang outpatients, waited 50 minutes in the call queue and complained about the fact I’d been on the wait list a year for the appointment. I finally got a date and drove an hour to Grantham. My appointment was 90 mins late. The consultant very clearly hadn't read anything about me in advance as was asking me lots of questions about procedures I’ve had previously (that I didn’t know the medical names of! “You’ve had xyz done haven’t you?” I have no idea…you have my notes though) I felt rushed, I felt nobody was really that bothered about my experience, and we didn’t even get the issue resolved that I had the appointment for. I am now considering paying for this privately rather than wait however long for my referral for surgery. Really sad and disappointed to experience this level of service from the NHS, as an NHS member of staff. Lots of work to do.

Review titled Heart attack
by A very grateful man. - Posted on 04 January 2024
In December I had a heart attack whilst in the garden. Got to A&E at Lincoln Hospital and eventually put on the Johnson Cardiology ward. I was very scared but felt in safe hands! Early in the Friday morning I had a angiogram procedure where a blocked artery to my heart was diagnosed. The consultant managed to unblock the artery and fit stents. On the road now to recovery and lifestyle change. I cannot thank the Drs and nurses enough who looked after me. Simply amazing people!

Review titled Fantastic service at The Cardiac Short Stay
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rick Turner - Posted on 03 December 2023
I cannot thank the staff enough for the outstanding care, patience, professionalism and friendliness, I experienced during my recent heart stent. The hospital is under a lot of pressure with a lack of beds, understaffing and too many patients. Despite this the staff gave a fantastic service and I grateful to them that I am back home and recovering.

Review titled A&E Lincoln County Hospital
by POACHER6399 - Posted on 16 November 2023
Having had an ECG for chest pains from an ambulance post a call to the 111 service ( an ambulance which arrived in 15 minutes and were very professional) I arrived in hospital for "more tests". I was triaged very quickly and had another ECG. That afternoon I was subjected to an x Ray and a series of blood tests . All staff were courteous and professional especially those in the Day A&E unit. They even found time to give me a cuppa and a sandwich whilst finding a charger for my phone so I could call my wife. Excellent professional service with a significant number of diagnostics done in a relatively short period of time.
