Review titled Really good service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Chris Bail - Posted on 17 April 2025
I attended urgent care with a knee injury and was seen within 2hrs by a very professional and knowledgeable nurse had x rays taken and a referral to fracture clinic. I was expecting a long wait for this appointment however I was given an appointment within a week and seen by an orthopedic surgeon who assessed me and gave me a treatment plan. From start to finish the care and service I received was perfect!

Review titled Can't get hold of anyone
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 April 2025
Had a voicemail from fracture clinic, saying ring 'this number' no number left on voicemail, and no missed or received call. Tried umpteen numbers, no one knows who or why I was called. Number eventually provided cuts off after so many rings. How are you supposed to speak to anyone when you can't attend the hospital easily?

Sarah at the opthalmology reception is absolutely wonderful. She has handled a few phone calls from me and has been so helpful each and every time. She is a credit to the NHS! Thank you Sarah

Review titled Best and Worst of A&E
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2025
Had occasion to take my partner to Lister Hospital A&E last week re suspected Cardiac Incident. Department was manic and felt under resourced resulting in long wait. However treatment received was first class and thorough and all staff were brilliant despite being under obvious stress.

Review titled Most wonderful staff
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jessie - Posted on 14 March 2025
I recently went into hospital for planned gallbladder removal surgery, I was extremely nervous and didn’t have anyone with me. I suffered with a panic attack whilst awaiting surgery and was comforted by the most wonderful nurses and sister on the ward. All staff I came across from the anaesthetist, student anaesthetists and the aftercare nurses were just amazing, so kind, patient and made me so safe and cared for. I have recovered brilliantly and am so glad I went ahead with the surgery thanks to the reassuring team I had around me whilst in hospital!

Review titled Excellent service in Urgent Treatment Centre
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Helen Wells - Posted on 04 April 2025
I attended Lister A&E on Monday 31st March, I needed stitches removing after I broke my leg on holiday in Austria and am on my way back home to the North West of England. Upon reading the Expected waiting time of over 10 hours, my heart sank, however I was immediately directed to the Urgent Treatment Centre, they even got a porter & wheelchair to take me to the UTC and was seen within 45 mins. The whole nursing and support staff were excellent, very supportive, reassuring, kind, sympathetic and extremely competent. Having received excellent care in Austria I was extremely proud of the service provided by Lister UTC, in particular the clinical nurse(tall, female, black hair in ponytail) and female in burgundy top (fellow skier) were fantastic. Unfortunately the service provided by the switchboard when I made enquiries prior to my visit was extremely poor, the female I spoke to was monosyllabic and at times inaudible in her responses, I was trying to make an appointment as I knew I didn’t need the emergency care of a very stretched A&E but did need my stitches removing and medication within a time limit. I am still exasperated by NHS processes as I’m still being told I need to physically present myself either at my GP or A&E when I get home to ‘get referred’ into the system before an orthopaedic specialist will check my recovery is as expected. ( I can provide names of the staff but unfortunately the review won’t be published if I do)

Review titled Paeds ED
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 March 2025
Went to ED today with my disabled son. Not happy at all with the care we received. Nursing staff took three hours to decide he needed bloods again and no nobody acknowledged the fact he has severe additional needs. No communication from staff. Am happy to wait but it would be nice to be told a plan when you are traiged.

Review titled Good and bad
Rated 3 stars out of 5

on the whole staff were great including receptionists, nursing staff and doctors, however, when the new staff came on shift at 8pm there was one particular member of the nursing staff that was not so good. Although she was fine with patients, the way she was with other staff members was not nice, very rude in the way she spoke to them and constantly rolling her eyes after telling them what to do. I assume she was a more senior member of staff but uncomfortable to watch and unprofessional. All the other staff were great though, working together as a team in a professional and polite manner.

Review titled Brilliant service and treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gaye Lloyd - Posted on 20 March 2025
I am 58 and following a positive poo test I was referred to the team and met a nurse at QE2. She was great, patient and explained the whole process. A week later I had a colonoscopy, which was so much easier and not at all embarrassing, the team throughout the procedure were understanding and informative. The following day I received a call checking up on me and 7 days later (yesterday) I received my 'good news' phone call and all is okay. I cannot praise the service/people I have received treatment/support/information highly enough and would happily put anyone's mind at ease if you are referred.
