  1. Review titled Changes to phone calls

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Val - Posted on 22 April 2024

I received a letter dated 22.01.24 with regards to having a phone call today to discuss my blood results. The letter states that I'll be called between 1330 and 1800 for a 1530 phone call. I've just seen from a message on my phone that I was supposed to confirm my call via a link. I really need this call and it would be nice to be informed of these changes.

  2. Review titled Fantastic Midwifery Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carolina - Posted on 12 April 2024

This hospital has a fantastic midwifery team! I have had lots of issues while breastfeeding my new born baby and I was always offered same day visit from their very kind and knowledgeable team of midwives. I cannot recommend them enough, each one of them encouraged me to keep going and were very understanding and compassionate no matter what decision I wanted to make. They made me feel calm and reassured that I would get the support I needed and gave me lots of advice too. They also have a breastfeeding champion who is a very kind person and very caring indeed! I hope all these ladies get the appreciation they deserve from the hospital.

  3. Review titled Compassionate and professional service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We would like to thank the staff at Woodlands clinic for their compassion, professionalism and support at what was an extremely difficult time. The care and support we received made a painful experience more bearable and for that we are extremely grateful.

  4. Review titled rheumatology nurse

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I would just like to say that the nurse was the most kind, honest, straightforward and human person that has seen my mum in the whole time she has been suffering with her condition, which has been many years. The consultation my mum had with her yesterday was the first time she felt that she was understood. I can’t tell you what this will mean for our family. Thank you!

  5. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had sliced through 3 fingers and went to A&E who were helpful initially however they didn't investigate the injury which meant they missed a severed tendon in one of the fingers; glued them up and sent me home. I am now unable to straighten my finger and have been told that they 'don't like' doing surgery to fix it. Have tried giving me a splint for 8 weeks but also told it is unlikely to work due to the delay in it being discovered - should have seen plastics when I went in the day of the injury. Disappointing mixed messages from different departments and lack of clarity as to what will happen if the current treatment fails to work successfully.

  6. Review titled Great treatment, appalling administration

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Linda Cosgrove - Posted on 05 March 2024

I had an echocardiogram on 1st November 2023, a 72 hour holter monitor and 12 lead ECG on 12th November 2023. It has taken 5 phone calls to different people in the cardiac department to finally be informed that the letter had been typed on 07th February 2024. It has taken a further 2 phone calls for my GP and myself to finally receive the letter on 5th March 2024. My GP could not discuss my symptoms and worries about heart disease as she did not have the relevant details. This has caused me unnecessary worry and stress.

I visited ENT at Lister in autumn 2023 and again in March 2024 having received my hearing aids and the staff were so pleasant and helpful and the hearing aids that I have received work perfectly and have transformed my hearing. Thank you all very much.

  8. Review titled Hours waiting for treatment that never comes

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 March 2024

I was admitted to the hospital via a&e on the advice of my surgeon - who suspected I had an infection in my leg following metalwork insertion last year. I was sent to SAU where i waited to be treated by orthopaedics. Where I sat for 7 hours plus with a bad infection. I was not given any treatment or pain relief as the orthopaedic team did not prescribe any. My surgeon was confident that as he had prewarned the on call orthopaedic registrars that I was being admitted they would treat my infection quickly. Instead I was sat in a room and ignored for the majority of the day. My faith in the team to treat me properly is being seriously eroded.

  9. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Emma Rook - Posted on 17 March 2024

The service I received at the Adult Urgent treatment centre on Friday was quick, efficient and friendly from the moment I spoke to the reception staff, to the triage nurse and to the senior nurse who treated me. I was very impressed at how smoothly everything was run and even though there were some problems with the computer system, the senior nurse was able to examine my xray (which also happened very quickly) and get back to me in a very fast time. Thanks!

  10. Review titled waiting time and consultation

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Nicola Durr - Posted on 12 March 2024

I must stress that have had excellent visits and service in relation to this medical issue from the start of the treatment. Clinicians have been helpful, considerate and taken the time to talk through scans, options and address any concerns. This appt was a follow up, so the treatment had been successfully completed. However, my appt today (12/03) was for 10.20. I was not seen until 12. This meant that I was late for my afternoon teaching class at 1. There was a sticker next to one of the consultants' names on the board saying there was a 45 minute wait, which was extended to an hour, but I had no idea which individual I was due to see so that wasn't a great deal of help. My wait was still almost an hour and a half. Once I got into the room, the consultant was polite, and did apologise briefly for the delay, but seemed not to know anything about why I was there. They were asking me all of the medical questions about my diagnosis and treatment, which wasn't very reassuring as my medical knowledge and understanding is limited and I felt they should have been aware as professional clinicians. I was expecting to meet with someone who at least knew the basic information about my case and could ask medically pertinent questions about my progress with that in mind.
