We were very sorry to receive your comments and concerns via the NHS / Care Opinion website about your experiences when trying to contact the hospital to find out about your appointment. It is very difficult to respond to the specific concerns you have raised without being able to investigate your concerns in more detail. The timeframes for urgent appointments depend upon the service you are referred to, for example for macular conditions the appointment should be within 2 weeks and for other urgent issues the appointment should be within 6 weeks. We take all issues surrounding patient care very seriously and would very much like to hear from you directly about your experience. If you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@mft.nhs.uk quoting reference number P023/0039 they will be able to discuss this with you.

I’ve been under the care of the glaucoma tram at Manchester Royal Eye for many years, having also had two trabs and also having a recent cataract op. These guys are absolutely top notch. The care is outstanding. I feel totally confident leaving my sight in their safe hands.

Been under Opthalmology for over 2 years. Attended yesterday to have suture removal. The experience was second to none. I was treated with the utmost care and attention. The staff are all amazing. So efficient and helpful. I really appreciate all what they have done for me over the years and thank them all. Everything is explained. The Consultant is a real good expert. The procedure was that good I felt nothing. Thanks All.

I had to have a biopsy on my eye, I had no idea what was going to happen, but from moment entered department they explained everything to me, made sure I was OK from start of day, to the procedure and care before discharge. With clear information for what to do once discharged. all the staff could not have been more pleasant and friendly. I know if ever need anything else doing there I will be on good hands keep up the good work x
