  1. Review titled Speedy service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2023

Having a minor injury I was reluctant to attend a&e. I did so on a Saturday morning arriving around 9.15am. I was triaged almost immediately and sent to x-ray. After a very short wait I was x-rayed and went back to be seen in A206. After being sorted, and viewing the x-ray I was out and back in the car by 10.15am. Fantastic service received and thank you to the staff I saw.

  2. Review titled Joke of a Hospital

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jack - Posted on 21 June 2023

So much red tape. Where i use to live I had my Orthotics done without issue. This hospital requires you to get a new referral every year and I assume see someone ever year (even though nothing with my case has changed in over 15 years). I say assume because I've heard nothing from them in months. So I am walking around in shoes that are uncomfortable because I have to jump through a ton of hoops to get my new ones fixed for me. The parking situation is also beyond ridiculous, it once took me 25 mins to find a space and i was in the hospital for less than 5 mins.

  3. Review titled Exceptional day stay

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 February 2023

A family member had surgery in the day stay unit. All staff were amazingly polite and very friendly, putting my nan at ease. They were very thorough with explaining the days procedure and answered any questions we had. Over all the service ran smooth, and we had were both very happy with the results.

This is my 2nd course of treatment with dermatology and I can honestly say both experiences have been amazing. The team are professional and have so much empathy for their patients always cheerful and bright, I have to attend 3 times a week and there has never been a time where the staff were different……… the energy in this department is amazing and so upbeat I always leave feeling so much better, All the staff are so kind and caring professional and have a great sense of humour. Thanks dermatology for making me better and providing such an outstanding service I am truly grateful

  5. Review titled Fantastic Epilepsy Nurse

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hayley Jane Ledgerton - Posted on 20 October 2022

Absolutely incredible. We see her frequently and if I have any concerns about my son's Epilepsy I call her. If she doesn't answer the phone, I leave a message and she gets back to me extremely quickly. The Epilepsy Consultant is very, very lucky to have her working alongside him. Her advice is always spot on. She is caring, supportive, trustworthy. Truly a credit to the NHS. I couldn't recommend her high enough.

I was taken by ambulance and admitted to A&E on 7th October with Covid and pneumonia. Having received treatment over five days I would like to express my appreciation to all the staff, ambulance staff, doctors and nurses who took care of me during this time. Many thanks.

  7. Review titled Rheumatology dept failure

    by Degail99 - Posted on 22 September 2022

My 86 year old mother, who is virtually immobile, moved to the Chelmsford area in September 2021 due to ill health. Up until this time she had been receiving a six monthly injection to help with her osteoporosis. I have been trying to get her this injection since last year. The NHS insisted she needed to see a rheumatologist in Chelmsford before her injections could start again. Fair enough, I thought. However, we are still waiting for her to have an injection! We were sent an appointment which was in Braintree some time ago and she was too sick to go so far. We had another appointment, and then rheumatology cancelled it for no reason. In the summer she had a fall and broke her wrist and leg, that led to her having to cancel the next allocated appointment as she was too poorly to go. I asked our GP if he could administer the injection. He said he could, and was willing to come to the care home to do it. However, because of the bureaucracy involved in the system, we were told by Broomfield Hospital that this wasn’t possible. We were then sent an appointment in error, which was retracted, then finally I was told mum could have a telephone consultation to save her having to travel to the hospital. We were sent a date and time. Fantastic! Success at last! Nearly a year on, but a result nonetheless. Mum waited for the call. It never came. Then we were told that she hadn’t actually attended her appointment. They denied that a telephone appointment had ever been set up. As I had this planned phone consultation in writing, I was more than a little peeved, especially as rheumatology then proceeded to write to mum’s GP saying mum had failed to attend her appointment. Clearly untrue. Mum has a complete record of all the Denosumab injections she has ever had in her Bone Passport which is readily available to see. She has had the necessary blood test which is needed before the injection can be administered ……yet still we wait. For me, this experience has shown how disjointed the system is and how much time and money is wasted. In my view, it also demonstrates a lack of accountability. You can never find out who exactly is making the mistakes, so how can this ever be fixed? As for mum, she sits in her chair and waits. And waits. Maybe next year?

  8. Review titled Amazed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Bernard Cole - Posted on 19 July 2022

NHS web flashed red, dial 999 it said. Service busy so drove. Within 20 minutes was triaged, a further 20 blood taken, 20 later seen by doctor, good examination, urine test. Some time later the diagnosis explained fully and concise. Prescription for course of drugs. Communication both ways excellent. Well done all concerned.
