Review titled Patient experience

My mum was admitted couple of years ago to Sandwell hospital. On this occasion she admitted on to the new site. Dr took no note of my mums updated medication provided, and written up medication from couple yearsago. She having a language barrier struggled to explain she no longer takes the medication written up. She was not allowed to take medication is normally takes. This could have easy caused her health to deteriorate resulting to increase number of days of stay. The Drs come around asking the same information and they do not read the notes provided on their system. This is really worrying and does not allow me having confidence in their medical decision. The ward Sau asked my mum if she required transport to be arranged. Mum explained that her daughter was collecting her. On arrival I asked for porter service as my mum will struggles to walk to the car park. I was told that she will try..! This was not an acceptable answer, as they were prepared to arrange transport and not a porter service to the car park..! The new hospital is not clearly sign posted there appears to be hidden lifts and doors. Sau is not clearly signposted even the staff did not know where it was, the lovely volunteer took me to the wrong place. The door telecom does not release doors. The doors are extremely heavy to pull open.

Review titled Horrendous wait

My daughter was having chest pains and her blood pressure was very low. She was triaged after 1.5 hours and her bloods were taken and an ECG done. She explained that she has had multiple pulmonary embolism a few years ago and thats why she was concerned and they only found after they did a CT scan Then she was asked to wait in the waiting area. We waited for over 5 hours only to find out after asking reception when would she be seen that it would be 9 hours before she would be seen. We couldt wait any longer and had to come back home. She is still in pain and noone has contacted us to see if she is okay. Shouldn't have gone to this hospital. We don't know what to do!!

Review titled Disorganised

My partner was admitted to the A&E department last week after a accident at work ,it turned out he had a fratued shoulder and wrist, he was there 3 hours waiting for painkillers, still non, painkillers given after 4 hours of asking ,the staff ,seemed disorganised, not enough signs to how to get to the right department, they need t.v monitors on the walls to display the names of the patients being called, the metropolitan hospital was opened too early and has a long way to go before it will be fully functioning, and I just hope that I don't have to go there in the winter months.

Review titled Horrific

Absolutely horrendous getting into the ane took 45 minutes going round and round trying to find it every staff member we asked had no idea which direction to point us. Staff were extremely rude. No water machines or vending machines for patients. Waiting time is actually worse than our hospital that was shut down. They haven't even trained the staff to know where anything is they shouldn't have opened it to a bunch of rude staff that didn't know what they were doing or where they were going. No medication given to patients that have medical issues that can't go without there medications without becoming ill. Nhs you are broken and should be ashamed of yourselves.

Review titled a big thankyou to the doctor to the nurses.
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I’m not the type to leave reviews , but after yesterday’s service it would be rude not to. I took a trip to midland met 9/10/24 I have been suffering for several months where I’ve made so many trips to Sandwell Hospital a&e. Each time I have been they have told me something different and just brushed it off and sent me home with painkillers. I had been rushed into a&e once again but to midland met. I had a female doctor who was the one who was looking after me during my visit and she had finally given me my diagnosis that could have been given to me my last trip if they checked me out the way she did. It baffles me that I was taken to Sdec last time at Sandwell and they did not do what this lovely doctor did. I just want to say a big thankyou to her for all her hard work and Midland Met Hospital should be so grateful to have a doctor who is so understanding and lovely. She listened to everything I had to say and usually doctors don’t want to hear about your past experiences only the present. She took everything into consideration and she took the right steps to get me the right help. She explained my condition in so much detail so I have a great understanding. I cannot thank her enough and if I do ever have to make another trip to a&e ( hopefully not ) I really hope she is the doctor that I am under care of. She is amazing. The hospital so far has been great! I do think signs should be a tad clearer , but they have just opened so I’m sure they’ll always be improving as the hospital gets busier. I also want to thank the nurses who took care of me yesterday , you were all great. Thankyou for finally listening to me and for getting me the correct help that I have been begging for from my GP’s and from Sandwell & QE hospital. The A&E were also quick and efficient and I hope it stays this way.

Review titled 18 hour wait in A and E
Rated 1 star out of 5

Visited new A and E yesterday and received an 18 hour wait. City A and E is not closed yet so hate to think what waiting times will be like when it does close. Not very well organised as when nurses are calling you to be triaged some are quiet and so you cannot hear if you are at the back and then miss your turn. Care was good when seen but could not believe only had one ECG machine in whole department also in the treatment area it seems too small with staff in the way of each other. The actual hospital doesn't seem any better than Sandwell's it is probably better than the City Hospital so can understand closing that but really Sandwell should have been left open alongside this new hospital to deal with the increasing population. Couldn't believe elderly man had been waiting for a bed for 24 hours and told to sleep on the two seater bench till one could be found disgraceful. Hopefully I won't have to use an A and E again but will not be returning here as Russell Hall and Manor are about the same distance away from my house as this. It is closer to Birmingham than Sandwell Please reopen Sandwell A and E
