Review titled Awful dermatology experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 July 2023
My experience relates to a dermatology appointment I had last week and is no reflection on other areas of the hospital or other doctors. After having to wait months for a dermatology appointment I was greeted with a very disappointing visit. I was looking forward to getting a second opinion through the NHS, but upon entering to see the doctor and starting to explain my situation I was almost immediately put down and that I shouldn't be seeing the NHS as it wasn't an NHS matter, they can't help me. He then proceeded to repeat "I'm going to send your GP a hard letter". As if I was in the wrong and waisting their time for being there. This gave me a negative feeling, but I continued to try to explain my issues. I felt as if I didn't have the time to go through it all. Pictures were taken and presented on a computer screen to which the doctor pointed out that I do have what I already knew I had and that nothing can be done and to wait maybe 5-7 years where things may improve. I could try this one treatment, but that he's not an expert in this area. He then said "It's a bad job done". This made me feel really off. I was then ushered out of the room, I don't think the appointment was more than 5-10 minutes. There was no examination of my skin as expected for any underlying conditions, I couldn't even explain everything and forgot to ask about something that was important. I left feeling extremely emotional. At the very least you should know these things can have a big impact on a patient, not matter how big or small their problems are or if you have any expertise in the area. You should be mindful of their mental health and what they may be going through. I wasn't able to continue working that day and had to take some time off. In fact, my whole week was a mess and my mental health has suffered more because of this, I feel like I have been left in the dark.

Review titled Great professional staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kathy - Posted on 11 July 2023
Went to A&E department today, I found all staff to be very helpful and very professional, the doctor I saw really cared, was great. Explained everything to me and was so professional. She made me feel at easy. I went away understand exactly what was wrong. The only thing I would say that did confuse me was the wait time on board said originally 103 hours and 19 mins then changed to 8 hours 23 mins. I didn’t wait that long at all was seen and out door under 4 hours. Great team on today in that department, the X-ray staff also great and amazing

Review titled Appaling lack of compassion
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Hilary King - Posted on 06 August 2023
I have cancer My family live abroad. Arrangements were in place for my family to be with me to hear the prognosis. They were already in the country when the appointment was cancelled by post, with one day’s notice. Another appointment arranged for weeks hence. This shows a total lack of compassion, nay professionalism either.

Review titled Outstanding Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anne-Marie Zervos - Posted on 13 June 2023
I brought my son to be fitted with orthotic insoles to help with a back injury. The orthotic practitioner was absolutely fabulous - assessing my son, sourcing appropriate insoles, fitting them & explaining everything to him in such a way that he really understood how they worked properly. His assistant, again excellent, recorded all the details during the appointment. Thank-you very much to the team.

Review titled When an individual overrule the needs of many
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Jane Hughes - Posted on 29 June 2023
I have been a patient in Ward 3 for the last 3 days, the staff have been kind and responsive. However at night the needs of one disturbed individual to shout for hours ruining the rest of the rest of the wards occupants. The staff appear to be doing their best, surely it the role of managers to control the issue. If they are unaware, then another issue is raised.

Review titled Slow and late communication between hospitals and GP Surgery
by Juan23 - Posted on 25 September 2023
My feedback is regarding the poor communication of medical information between hospitals and GP surgery. I have had three operations for cancer since November 2022, each time I receive a letter through the post, they don't appear on my patient's record. I have sent copies by email and taken them into the surgery personally and asked for them to be added. My wife attended Dermatology in July 2023. As a result, a new medication regime was recommended by the consultant. After numerous attempts to get the new medication at the GP clinic, the letter from the consultant is still not on her records and her prescriptions have not been updated. I wrote an online prescription request after requesting the dermatology clinic to send me the letter by email. Given the high tech world we live in today, there must be a better way for hospitals to update patient records at the GP surgery other than letters send by email or post?

Review titled Day Surgery unit
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Cristian - Posted on 09 June 2023
This hospital is a joke. Today I suppose to have surgery and they told me to be there at 07,15am. Of course I attend morning clinic and 2 hours later they told me that my surgery will be postponed for afternoon. Really? How can you keep the patients to wait so many hours without even drinking water? You should be more specific or do your clinics better for day Surgery... Call the patients which are due in the morning for morning clinic and same for afternoon. It is enough the stress the patients are waiting for the surgery to be done. One more thing... The nurses are lovely there but some of the doctors are really talking down to you like you are nobody.... More professionalism wouldn't hurt no one..
