  1. Review titled Outstanding Staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Toku - Posted on 23 May 2023

Hospitals are not usually fun places, so it is the Staff that make the place what it is. Had an MRI scan, today and the staff really were helpful, fun and professional. I had 90 minutes in the scanner and it was not stressful at all. Thank you to the team.

  3. Review titled Outstanding

Rated 5 stars out of 5

In to A & E Easter Sunday morning in extreme pain by late afternoon two very experienced young ladies from ENT diagnosed the problem and performed a small Op relieving the pain. Admitted overnight and discharged Mon morning to recover at home. Tuesday 6am the stone lodged in my saliva gland passed under my tongue the size of a 20p piece. So relieved as so painful and all due to the outstanding care and decision making by your team. I really am so very happy and so thankful to you and all at the hospital for the care and kindness I received.

  5. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

my nan recently spent some time in Milton Keynes hospital ward 3. I can’t thank the all the care staff and services enough from the nurses to the carers to doctors to the discharge team. They all showed such kindness and warmth. They showed compassion and kindness. All staff went above and beyond duty have working in the car sector my self i understand all the pressures that come with care. It was nice to see my nan become better and have doctors and nurses there to raise questions or worry’s. And a big shout out to the carers who cared for my nan and showed warmth and understanding. Thank you so much 😊

My daughter was admitted to A and E with her COPD stage 4 breathing problems then transferred to Ward 2 and left without nebuliser treatment until a complaint was made to staff. Terrible treatment.

  7. Review titled Traumatic experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anka - Posted on 02 March 2023

i ended up in emergency paeds with my son with an acute apendicitis. the cannulation was done however when the iv antibiotic was adminstered he was complaining of pain. the nurse said that is normal as the co-amoxiclav is an irritant drug.what? he had the surgery on the same day. i've been taken in the par1(recovery)where my son was crying in pain. I have asked the nurse to call the anaesthetist for some pain relieve and after 30 minutes she showed up giving me the bothering look(like really🤨). she was struggling to get him out of pain then she topped it up with adjuvant drug and she left without ensuring he was ok. after a few minutes his oxygen level dropped to 40% and he rolled his eyes so i asked the nurse(which was in a total panic) for the mask and oxygen and had to shook my son calling his name. he came back to my callings and then the nurse transfered us in ward 5. on arrival the recovery nurse said she needs to handover to the nurse. i had to ask to be connected to the monitor as he was on 6l of o2/min. the nurse showed up after 1h,took my son vital signs however, she never asked his level of pain, not offered a jug of water. the nurse administered the iv antibiotic while my son was sleeping however when connected to the pump for his metronizadole he woke up in sooo much pain that i stopped the pump(because i couldn't find the nurse) and asked for the consultant to change his iv to oral antibiotics. in the morning no one offered my son breakfast or a bowl of water to wash his face or to change his bedding. i bought him a costa bap and in between his feeding I took him to toilet, when we came back his food was gone, the domestic staff threw his food in the bin. the pain that my son went through was traumatic and the level of care was poor. i wish for no parent to go through what i have been.

  10. Review titled Appalling Service - would give no stars if I could

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Daisy - Posted on 07 December 2022

I went to A&E as I was experiencing extreme abdominal and lower back pain to the point where I couldn't move, or the pain would get worse - this was regarding menstrual pain. I got to the desk, and the receptionist just told me I need to go to the Urgent Care Centre (walk-in centre) where the wait was 5 hours! I couldn't wait that long with the immense pain I was in. I called 111 and they told me I must go to A&E immediately. So, I went back to A&E and the same receptionist had an attitude with me. "I thought I'd already seen you this morning, I already told you to go to the Urgent Care Centre. We do not treat cases like this so there is nothing we can do for you." I was literally sobbing in pain to this receptionist, and they had no sympathy whatsoever. They downright refused to book me in and have me seen, my condition was not ‘severe enough.’ This treatment is absolutely disgusting. Menstrual pain is always disregarded by GPs, doctors and nurses when it could be (and probably is) a lot more serious. I am sick and tired of women's health being completely disregarded and pushed to the side. For the past 5 years, I have been seeing doctors, specialists and GPs about my menstruation issues and every single time I have been disregarded due to my age and have just been given painkillers/birth control. I know my own body and I know that what I am experiencing is not normal. My encounter with the A&E receptionist was incredibly dehumanising and made me feel like my symptoms/condition is not real and that I am imagining it. I think that being disregarded to the point where I am standing in A&E crying because I am in debilitating pain is not right. I am very shocked, upset and disappointed by the way I have been treated, one by the A&E receptionist and two, by the NHS for the last 5 years. I feel incredibly unsupported and alone, I feel like no one takes me seriously and just brushes the pain off like it's nothing. This is ruining my life and my mental health, and it seems like no one is willing to help me because my symptoms/condition is not regarded as 'serious' or even real for that matter. I am shocked and appalled by the service I have received, and I hope that one day, someone will listen to me and take me seriously. To anyone who is experiencing extreme menstrual pain like I am, do not go to A&E despite what 111 tells you, as they will absolutely not help you whatsoever and will send you away, no matter what state you're in as they do not regard it as 'severe enough.' Disgusting.
