  1. Review titled Excellent Endoscopy Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 December 2024

Had a 4 point colonoscopy today. The facilities, equipment and all levels of staff were excellent (kind, caring and very professional). The endoscopists were highly competent and immediately put you at ease. I particularly liked how they worked as a team to plan the best methodology and achieve the result that they wanted. Thank you.

Had cataract operation and entered hospital as nervous patient. Every member of staff was kind, courteous, helpful and good at their role. I need another cataract procedure and will not be nervous. Cannot speak highly enough of all staff I encountered

Arrived for a interview with a specialist stroke consultant was greeted by a wonderful nurse who took my blood pressure and weight, hight, then sat in waiting room for no more than 5 minuets, then saw a consultant who asked me looks of question about my fright of a potential stroke that i had thought i had had. He asked me lots of question of a previous stoke. He assured me that he thought i had no suffered anther stroke. And arranged for me to have a scan of my head. Went to the X-ray department waited in waiting room for a few minuets was greeted by another nurse who asked me loads of question, before my scan. I was the best treatment I have ever had. could not fault the treatment, was absolutely first class. Great nurses and doctors, the best thank you so much, Robert.

  5. Review titled Attentive and Helpful Staff Throughout Hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 October 2024

Recently had to go to Accident and Emergency with heavy bleeding caused by endometriosis, abdominal pain and trouble walking. Waited for about an hour or two in Accident and Emergency (which seemed like a long time at the time but is very good on a national scale!), but once they checked my haemoglobin and saw that it had dropped below 50 they immediately admitted me. I was in for about 4 days (first in Accident and Emergency, then Surgical Decisions Unit and then Hestercombe) while they slowed the bleeding, gave me blood transfusions/ iron infusions and performed an ultrasound to make sure that nothing else was wrong. Throughout my time there I didn't meet a single member of staff who wasn't conscientious and obviously doing their absolute best with a very heavy workload. The nursing staff and Healthcare Assistants were responsive and kind and always on time with rounds/obs and the consultant who I was due to see later that month for the same condition took the time to come up and do the appointment while I was there, which I really appreciated as I know how busy consultants are. As someone who was worried about even going into Accident and Emergency in the first place (111 wouldn't tell me me either way whether I should go in so I was worried I'd waste everyone's time) having staff that were so helpful and friendly really made the experience so much easier. While hopefully I'll never have to make any surprise visits to Accident and Emergency again the experience has made me much less anxious about going into the hospital for planned procedures in the future.

Attended day surgery at 8am on the 11th of September. No issues at all. Just wanted to say what a great staff they have in that unit. No moaning or complaining just happy people which makes the process of being there just so much easier. Much appreciated

  7. Review titled Fantastic staff and care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My daughter arrived on Sunday afternoon after an emergency referral from Minehead MIU after feeling very unwell, within half an hour of arrival to Musgrove Paediatrics my daughter underwent Urine, Blood tests and an ultrasound. The staff and Doctors were attentive thorough and professional providing with a speedy diagnoses and treatment with time against them and her condition deteriorating due to this she had successful surgery My daughters after care was nothing short of care compassion and empathy from the staff nurses and Doctors. Staffing were informative on every step of my daughters aftercare informing who was overseeing her care on staff change over to providing the medication and ensuring one’s wellbeing was attended to at anytime Staffing prioritised ensuring my daughter was herself involved in all discussions about her care speaking to her directly and not about her,my daughter’s experience of what was a traumatic time for her was equally matched by such lovely friendly staff on Oak ward who gave their time to her and other My daughter wanted to thank who cared for her at such a scary time a big thank you Consultant Dr E There was another Doctor who we can’t remember his name but he came to see my daughter after surgery to check in on her Thank you! Play therapist who provided my daughter with learning and crafts and just made her feel at ease Thank you for making me feel better

  9. Review titled All the staff were very helpful and considerate

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy Goldsmith - Posted on 20 August 2024

I had a cataract operation and everyone from the nurses to the theatre staff were wonderful. An outage occurred and the whole NHS system went down. The theatre staff were so apologetic and were unable to carry on with the operations until the system was back up. Fortunately it came back up after about an hour and a half but during that time we were kept informed what was happening. It was obviously frustrating for them but their concern was more for the patients who were waiting. Fortunately my operation went ahead although time ran out for a couple of patients who unfort7nately had to be sent home. A very caring department.

  10. Review titled Friends and family

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My brother was taken into a & e and then moved to the cdu unit. I have been trying to find out for the past 2 days how he is but the cdu unit never answer the phone. On day one I tried 18 times to get through and day 2 10 times. I appreciate these units are busy but for people like myself that live too far to visit and the only family I find this unacceptable. I am just trusting he is ok and they will ring me as next of kin if anything serious happens
