  1. Review titled Fantastic doctors & nurses

by Frankie Lansbury - Posted on 20 August 2022

I had to visit A&E as was struggling with extreme Nerve pain, I thought I would be just sent away like my GPS usually do! But no they took there time to identify everything and even when they were short of beds they managed to make me comfortable and until one was available. The nurses and doctors had great jolly personalities and very understanding and great to talk to . They are very thorough. I highly recommend this hospital. I even recommended it 11 years ago when i had my daughter there and its only got better . Thank you to all the staff even when your under so much pressure you do a amazing job!

  2. Review titled Excellent care

    by Margaret Orr-Rabuse - Posted on 10 August 2022

I had my second cataract operation yesterday at Musgrove. My first experience was so caring and competent that I expected the same again. The service was even better! From the receptionist who greeted me on my entry all the way through to the surgeon, I could not have expected a more professional team. I cannot give a higher rating for the care I received. I was very nervous and was quite upset at one point when I was waiting and was treated with such kindness and concern I calmed immediately. I can't thank the team enough. Excellent service. I highly recommend this department. Thank you.

  3. Review titled Excellent service

by Crispin - Posted on 13 August 2022

I attended for a cut lip after a fall. I had to wait a while but I don't complain since they were seeing patients not having a tea break. They referred me upwards to a specialist who sewed me up in no time. My only complaint was I was desperate for a wee but didn't want to lose my place in the queue.

  4. Review titled Excellent experience

    by Sandra-Anne Green - Posted on 21 February 2023

I went to theatre for vascular work on my right leg under local anaesthetic, was last on the day's list yet my surgeon went to extra trouble to treat two other parts of my leg having already dealt with the original problem. I was very appreciative and benefitted enormously. Thank you!

  5. Review titled Terrible waiting times in A&E

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 August 2022

Still waiting in A&E after nearly 10 and a half hours waiting to be seen. On arrival asked what was wrong, I explained I’d had eye pain for several days and my vision had been affected. I was asked no further questions and then watched as a continuous stream of people which had come in hours after me in some cases, seen by the doctor. I understand we all have to wait and some people need urgent attention but this became ridiculous.

  6. Review titled A Month of Radiotherapy

by Souwesterly - Posted on 23 September 2022

Obviously I was very apprehensive about everything at first but after some minor hitches I was made to feel completely at home. We all feel like aliens when we're in hospital - it's a different world to the 'normal' life we know and feels all 'wrong', but my visits to The Beacon Centre have largely dispelled those feelings. The team are an amazing bunch of guys and girls who were all willing to help - and were also all very well informed. I felt that they really wanted to encourage me to get through the 20 sessions, to understand the side-effects and to keep cheerful - and with their help I've succeeded! Of course, it's been no pleasure to go through the same routine every day and just occasionally you even felt like giving up - but suddenly you're nearing the end and your pent up feelings turn into a determination not to let the staff down. Now that I've finished the course, it feels that a month has gone so quickly and while it's obviously a relief that it's over, I'm actually going to miss their company and friendship. Inevitably, I also hope that I'll never have to see them again too! Worst part - the disruption to my daily life and the waiting between arrival and being treated. Best part - seeing the same staff and patients regularly. Bestest part - the handshake at the very end of the sessions.
