  1. Review titled You’re all amazing, and we’re very grateful

    by limawq97 - Posted on 04 January 2024

Our daughter was struggling to breathe after vomiting during the night, and was then very upset and unsettled for a number of hours, refusing food and water. We called 111 who put us in touch with the ambulance service, they video called and assessed our daughter over the call, advising us to go to A&E as soon as possible. The staff at Musgrove Hospital were absolutely fantastic in all departments, from A&E to PAU. As initially very worried and scared parents of an infant struggling to breathe, we felt listened to, and cared for, with our daughter receiving compliments on her arrival in PAU, putting us as parents at ease, and again for her cheeky smile after she started to respond to treatment. We are extremely grateful to Emma in PAU for her care, her kindness, her patience and her clear instructions to us so we could continue to help our daughter through the illness she was struggling with, thank you, and all of the staff in your department for all you did for us, and continue to do, you’re all amazing, and we’re very grateful! Thank you!

  4. Review titled Caring attentive staff

by Gill Britton - Posted on 05 January 2024

I attended Blake Ward recently for an emergency assessment. Thank you so much for your professionalism and 'listening ear' when I explained the difficulties I was experiencing. You explained the treatment clearly and also arranged a follow up appointment 5 days later. Thank you so much for your help and care.

  5. Review titled Excellent care by a well-organised team

    by squatcn34 - Posted on 28 November 2023

Not many of us really like to have hospital treatment or appointments, but I must admit SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) made my treatment a breeze. The excellent care was all carried out by a well organised professional team which made my short stay for treatment and test results very good. A true reflection of a great NHS and the service they give to all their patients while in their care. I for one would like to express my gratitude to all the staff at SDEC. Many thanks.

  6. Review titled I felt very reassured that he was in safe hands

    by bravohb73 - Posted on 01 December 2023

My son broke his leg at a rugby match. He was taken to musgrove hospital a&e department. Then he was transferred to oak ward. I felt so worried about him. But everyone was very kind, very professional and I felt very reassured that he was in safe hands. There were some extremely kind nurses and student nurses and HCAs on the ward who went the extra mile to show consideration and care.

  7. Review titled All the staff/nurses were absolutely amazing

    by LauraAyla9523 - Posted on 30 November 2023

We came in recently with our daughter, who has RSV. All the staff/nurses were absolutely amazing. We were made to feel so at home and nothing was too bigger ask. They were all so accommodating and friendly. Kindly, they helped a lot during the nights, which meant being a parent I could actually get some sleep. Our daughter is now on antibiotics, we’ve done a three day course so far. They sent us home with a further two days to still continue. Luckily and amazingly, they offer a great service where community nurses can come to your home to continue the antibiotics. This is so so helpful, especially when you’ve got existing children. I wish this service was offered everywhere, where possible. When you’re poorly you want all your home comforts, so this service has enabled us to go home a little earlier than needed but still receiving the vital care and course of antibiotics that we need. Thank you all of acorns.

  9. Review titled Such excellent care

by Shirley Fletcher - Posted on 09 November 2023

My husband took me to the A&E Dept at Musgrove because I was having all the symptoms of a heart attack. I was very scared and felt very unwell. From the minute I got there I received such excellent, thoughtful care. I was in Resus for many hours while they tried everything possible to help. I was kept fully informed about what they were doing and why. I was always included in open discussions and never disregarded. I can’t thank the staff enough for their brilliant work. They made a frightening situation so much easier to cope with and they made me better. Thank you.

  10. Review titled Care from start to finish

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 November 2023

My wife fell while visiting the area from Cornwall. This necessitated an emergency admission for reset of two bones and then surgery to plate the arm. From start to finish the care she received was of the highest order. You could not ask for more. It was an example of the NHS at its best. Somerset is lucky to have such an amazing hospital. Well done to everyone who helped in what was a stressful situation.
