  1. Review titled Team were absolutely brilliant

    by caelumze45 - Posted on 23 November 2023

Team were absolutely brilliant. They introduced themselves to us. The appointment was very quick, and they had perfected the best way to take bloods for little ones with some lovely books as a distraction. Couldn't be happier.

Dear Caelumze45 Thank you so much for your time in sharing your positive experience about your child's visit to our Children's Outpatient department. I am very pleased your appointment was timely and I am also very glad to hear your child's blood tests were taken with the upmost care - we understand it makes such a difference to help ease the distress when little ones undergo blood tests. I will directly pass on your lovely feedback with the staff colleagues working in the Children's Outpatient Department who looked after you and your child and I will also share your feedback with the wider Children's unit. Everyone will be extremely happy to hear your kind words. Kindest regards Dr Holly

  2. Review titled The whole process was smooth

    by arapf99 - Posted on 03 November 2023

Our son was admitted as a day case for tooth extraction. The whole process was smooth and delivered in a friendly, reassuring and professional manner by everyone that was involved in our son’s care. We felt confident that he was in safe hands and the team were very skilled in reassuring both him and us. He found driving the motorised car to the anaesthetic room very amusing, along with the seemingly endless jokes from the anaesthetist! Definitely a good distraction! The ward was spotless, calm and efficiently run. The post op care notes were clear and well communicated and these and the discharge summary were handed over promptly. As a result of the efficient running of the ward, we weren’t kept on the ward, either before or after the procedure, for an unnecessary length of time and he was soon home recovering. We are very grateful to everyone involved Many thanks

  3. Review titled Doctors and nurses constantly went above and beyond

    by Virgocs96 - Posted on 03 November 2023

My son was seen at Acorns ward recently - he was very unwell and every doctor and nurse went above and beyond to make him better. It was a very traumatic time and everyone was so supportive and made sure I understood everything as it was happening and also after. My son stayed on Acorn ward for 5 days and I will never be able to thank all of the doctors and nurses that constantly went above and beyond for my son and also myself and for making him better.

  4. Review titled Well organised hospital - very clean and helpful, kind staff

by Citizen Joe - Posted on 24 October 2023

I had an appointment in the Radiology Dept. Making the appointment was initially difficult (GP told me to ring them but they said no appointments available - no indication of waiting time for appointment which was a bit stressfull). However, appointment was made after a few weeks. Pre-appointment instructions were clear. Parking good. Signage in the hospital could be improved - but when I asked staff for directions, they were very helpful. Staff were supportive and clear with instructions and advice. The radiologist was very professional and helpful. Everywhere including the toilet was spotlessly clean - top score for the cleaners. I came away feeling very satisfied with the service I had received and apart from the initial hassle in making the appointment, it was perfect. Thanks to everyone in the Musgrove team - your work and dedication is much appreciated.

  6. Review titled My daughter's asthma attack

    by encryptionmh77 - Posted on 12 October 2023

My daughter had an asthma attack 1 hour after attending Bridgwater hospital. The ambulance service responded within 3 minutes which was superb! My partner came in to hospital with my daughter and I drove in afterwards. The hospital staff were amazing especially when they had to deal with someone who decided they had “been there too long”. They dealt with the situation in a fantastic manner where I personally would not have been able to do the same. Absolutely fantastic staff throughout and I appreciate everything they done for my daughter whilst she was in! Thank you!

  7. Review titled Superb hospital and staff

by william Wheeler - Posted on 13 October 2023

I have just had a defibriallator fitted two days ago. The surgeon and staff excellent as usual. Since moving down to the WestCountry a year and a half ago from London I have used the hospital a few times. It is without doubt the best, we are so lucky to have this fantastic facility. We need to give you a massive pay rise!!!

  9. Review titled Mixed Bag

by Anonymous - Posted on 01 November 2023

A very mixed experience. Admitted at night to Resus. Staff pleasant, reassuring and efficient, but the area itself was absolutely freezing cold. Uncomfortably so. Even busy staff were complaining. Relieving and wonderful as it was to be given pain and sickness relief, the cold unit was miserable. The thin so-called cotton blankets might be easier to launder, but they are totally inadequate. Moved to AMU the next day. Day staff were great. Unfortunately, the night was a different experience. I understand how busy the unit is, but bell's were ignored. Pain relief not given. Vomit bowls not changed. No drinks offered. It felt scary and lonely, and I did consider calling a taxi and discharging myself despite feeling very unwell. During the day, it was completely fine. Staff were kind and supportive. Moved to Coleridge the 3rd night. A very busy ward, but everyone was courteous and helpful. My overall impression was of mostly good staff, alway scrambling to find beds, with not much time to actually spend with patients unless they were carrying out specific procedures. Nobody wants to go into hospital. It's frightening and tends to strip one immediately of individuality and dignity. Hard to see how this can be addressed adequately when the NHS is so hard pressed for facilities, beds, time, and staff.

  10. Review titled Fab

by Lynda & Trevor - Posted on 29 October 2023

My husband had day case surgery for a hernia repair, and we wanted to say a big thank you to everbody concerned. He was treated with kindness, care and respect. When i made the team aware of his additional needs, they were excellent at helping him out and explaining things, they were all so lovely, cheerful and patient. We feel very lucky he was treated in the Day Care Unit, by this amazing team. 10 out of 10
