  1. Review titled Amazing treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ellen - Posted on 18 May 2023

My surgery was smooth and had an excellent team who helped me deal with anxiety about my surgery and afterwards. Aftercare was above and behind what expect had the best student nurse who kept me comfortable and kept me talking whenever I needed it. I was really worried about this surgery but had so much support and felt so at ease. Had to come back due to infection and had the greatest support from a team of doctors to help my pain and make me comfortable and ensure I understand everything I needed and they would do. They even ensured my partner was always up to date and comfortable on these visits. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to help me finally no longer have pain.

  2. Review titled Outstanding Care

I have been in to Gynaecology this morning for a hysteroscopy and biopsy and to say I was nervous beforehand would be an understatement. However, from the moment I walked in to the department and throughout the procedure I was made to feel valued, cared for and I was pain free. My mind was taken off the procedure by the team chatting to me and keeping me calm. Please give the staff on duty today 20.04.23 a massive pat on the back, they are a credit to you and they have made a very big difference to my day.

  3. Review titled Patient, caring staff all round

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by P E Pickering - Posted on 05 May 2023

My first experience of A and E ophthalmology Full to overflowing. Children, wheelchairs and anxious patients waiting to be seen. I waited over 3 hours and greatly admired the good humour of overworked staff who showed great consideration and courtesy to us all. I was one of the last to be seen but when nurses were asked to run some tests on me, despite just about to go home, they took off their costs and gave me their attention. I felt guilty, but so impressed ! They looked worn out but still did their job.

  5. Review titled A&E Operational notes Sdec

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Re visit Dear Member Overall, I thought my recent experience was good. Even thought the wait was 6.5 hours, I can live with that as the NHS is in turmoil and disarray with strikes and doctor shortages etc. But, here’s the thing. Why was I asked to leave my vulnerable 76 year old wife alone, whilst awaiting treatment in the Sdec 1st floor waiting area, and move to the general ground floor waiting area. (This is a person who always needs an advocate during any treatment or consultation) Valuable information is now missing during treatment and consultation, causing unnecessary delays in a satisfactory outcome and further expense to the NHS. Name of the overly assertive nurse who ordered this action around 8am.03/04/23 withheld Any comments?

  6. Review titled Great consideration

The Advanced Practitioner Nurse who dealt with me during my diagnosis of prostate was professional, competent and understanding. All the courses of treatment were explained clearly. I also underwent a biopsy which was carried out by an efficient biopsy team. Every thing was explained clearly and made as easy as possible

  8. Review titled We found out no one had referred him

    by X.O.X.O - Posted on 20 June 2023

When my baby boy was born we were informed he could have Hypospadias. The day we was released from hospital we waited 10 hours for different people to check this out. Each time we was told he would be referred to get it check. On every maternity appointment we had at Newcross we asked if he had been referred and every time they said yes. We waited 10 weeks and found out no one had referred him, now we have to wait until August as there are no appointments available to see if we could possibly get one then. We have been given incorrect information numerous times and my child has been let down.

  9. Review titled Endoscopy

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Simon Ward - Posted on 17 April 2023

Had to have a colonoscopy and gastroscopy yesterday at new cross. To say I was nervous was the understatement of the year. But as soon as I arrived on the department I was greeted and looked after from the time I arrived until I left. I was treated with dignity and respect and kept informed every step of the way. Just to say thank you to all the staff who took care of me you were all marvellous. To anyone who is going to have these procedures please take it from me you will be in best of hands and given great care by very dedicated and professional staff. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. Simon

  10. Review titled Brilliant staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 02 March 2023

As expected with a&e, waiting times were not the greatest and confusion with cubicle allocations was quiet a mess. However, my treatment with the staff was impeccable! From the ambulance and a&e paramedics, to the porters (which was my most enjoyable interaction whilst at the hospital), the range of adult a&e nurses, mental health nurses, receptionists, Drs and even cleaning staff. Each member of staff I interacted with on the day were very accommodating to my needs, or just a helpful and much needed distraction to my current circumstances (mental health related). I commend each member of staff I interacted with that day, given the stresses and strains they have to deal with working in the A&E department. So much so that I’ve come here to write this review. I’m just sad I can’t thank the staff individually. Thank you newcross hospital staff!
