Review titled Worst A&E experience ever
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2024
I went to A&E after having a cyst aspiration in my wrist. After having this procedure in a different hospital I was in extreme pain to the point it was bringing me to tears and I have had a child I know pain!! As well as the pain my hand and arm kept going numb. After ringing 111 I was advised to go A&E, Newham general being the closest hospital to me, I was dreading it after having a bad experience in this hospital before. I got checked in just after 1:30am, I was told it was a 4hr wait, whilst waiting I asked for some pain killers as I was in agony! No pain meds was given, whilst waiting I also began to feel faint and dizzy. I got up to ask for help mid blacking out the receptionist told me to knock on the door and ask for help. No sense of urgency at all, the nurse opened the door gave me a sick bucket, grabbed my bad hand and told me to sit down. I had to sort myself out at this point getting myself water, etc. Baring in mind I’ve only got 1 hand to operate with. 5hrs later I asked how long the wait will be I was told 2hrs!! I thought I had waited all this time I might as well wait another 2hrs. I waited until 7:30am then overheard reception telling another patient the night staff shift is over and the staff starting won’t be seeing anyone until 8:30/9am!! By this point I was freezing, I felt so ill, was in serious agony. I gave up and called my gp when they opened at 8am, got called in straight away and taken care of. I understand the nhs is understaffed but this experience was awful, the staff didn’t care about our wellbeing, the attitudes are awful, whilst speaking to one staff member she kept yawning in my face. Do not bother going to this hospital, total waste of time!!

Despite my telling whoever rings me on phone!!!I cannot hear them!they persist in using phone!I plead with them to email/txt? But to no avail!disappointing and disgusting attitude to people with a hearing impairment!against the disability act also!I thought dealing with nhs would be easier? But it's horrendous!Still they ring? Despite my pleasure not to! Would not be surprised to get a phone call to discuss this complaint!completely deaf to my requests for emails or txt! Also in these days with scams etc! Number comes up on screen as a private number? There I never answer mostly!please get this sorted out!ASAP!must be happening to loads of hearing impairment people? Disgraceful!

Review titled Extremely rude and evil staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mudasir Ali Soomro - Posted on 29 October 2024
Extremely rude staff. My wife who had just had a cesarean was in pain and kept pushing the button to call someone and give her pain meds. The nurse who was supposed to bring them was over an hour late already. After pressing the button twice, one of the other midwives came and quietly put surgical tape over the button. I went to press it third time and noticed. This is possibly the worst hospital in the entire united kingdom. Possibly anywhere.

Review titled Unacceptable Post-Cesarean Care in Maternity Services
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mudasir - Posted on 05 October 2024
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this hospital. My wife, who had just undergone a cesarean section and was in significant pain, repeatedly pressed the call button for assistance and pain medication. Despite this, the nurse responsible for administering her medication was over an hour late. After pressing the button a second time, a different midwife came in and, without saying a word, taped over the call button to prevent it from being used. This level of negligence and lack of compassion is unacceptable. It made what was supposed to be a joyous moment into an incredibly stressful and painful one. I would never recommend this hospital to anyone based on our experience.

Review titled 14 hours and still waiting
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 07 December 2023
Newham General Hospital - 14 hours, 2 blood tests and an ECG repeated twice and still waiting. I’m a heart patient who takes daily medication. Have missed my dose due to this, but no one here cares. No wait time, no transparency, what world are we living in? Almost 2024, and seems like NHS especially Newham hospital is gone back in time. So many people now waiting, standing on top of each other as all seatings have now been taken, no updates or transparency, and NHS are taking our taxes to do exactly what??? Put a system in place, give live time updates, this will not only satisfy your patients, but also reduce time as less urgent cases will walk away and come back another time and those urgent will be seen sooner. By the way I am a heart patient with 2 heart by pass operations and strokes in the past and apparantely this is a good day today. Wow
