Review titled My mother's eye clinic appointment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mrs Anne Jones - Posted on 13 June 2023
We attended today for my mother's appointment. I accompanied her as she's nearly 90 and has limited vision. Mum's appointment letter said to allow 2 hours. It was a little over that but we were not concerned as we could understand that it's a progression between eye test, scan and then Dr and Consultant meeting. It all worked really well. All of the staff we met were helpful, kind and happy to fully explain anything my mum or I, as her supporter, needed further help on. Thank you to all the staff in this very busy clinic. All staff introduced themselves and explained what their particular part in the process involved. I was so impressed at their skills at making their users feel welcome and at ease. Clearly this part is alongside and together with their remarkable technical and professional skills. Thank you so much- we were both hugely impressed. We could see how busy the department was this afternoon, but everything seemed to work very efficiently. I could see an awful lot of hard work going on from all the staff seeing all these people, but even by the end of the afternoon, there was still so much energy in action. Thank you.

Review titled Really caring and compassionate

I arrived at A & E on Friday 30th June having had a fall and hurting my foot some 3 weeks previously. It was not getting better and my GP told me to go to A & E. I was dreading the prospect but the staff and the process was so good, I cannot thank them enough.

Review titled Waiting time 45+ weeks
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs Carver - Posted on 14 June 2023
My GP referred my 14yr old daughter for an urgent appt as she has been having breathing problems for the last 2 months, he heard something when listening to her heart, they have downgraded the referral without seeing her to a routine appt with a waiting time I was told by the booking team of 45* week wait. This is disgusting and unacceptable that a 14yr old now has to spend nearly a year not being able to go out and enjoy herself and ignoring an urgent referral by a medical professional who has seen her and felt the need to refer her.

Review titled So many caring people
Rated 4 stars out of 5

It’s a wonder how the team continues to smile and care under the pressure they face. Professional, caring & there for you. For so many people at the same time. Yes it gets hectic, and when it’s your turn, the team focus on you not the 100 other jobs they need to do.

Review titled Absolutely terrible hospital
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Steven Humphries - Posted on 09 June 2023
Treatment at the hospital is appalling. There seems to be incompetency at all levels. From hours waiting for the hospital main phone line to be answered to poor clinical performance and unsafe practice. The working practices at this hospital are horrific and are badly letting down the community that it is meant to serve. Sadly the staff seem to know this but don't really care. Hospital communications are frequently wrong and if you try to work hrough the inadequacies of their system you are presented with a wall of unanswered answer machines. If you enjoy leaving messages the NNUH is definitely the place to go.

Review titled Excellent Care

I came to a&e on bank holiday Monday as my atrial flutter had started become uncomfortable for me. The doctor I saw at the front door reception area was very reassuring and the nurse wearing a white uniform was brilliant took my blood from my arm and done an ecg., they were both very kind, both caring and offered me alot of reassurance. I could not believe how busy it was and Id like to say You do not get enough credit for your hard work. So thank you so much.

Review titled Absolutely amazing
Rated 5 stars out of 5

From start to finish, every single medical personnel went above and beyond. From my stay in hospital to my out patient appointments. The man who saw me struggling and appeared behind me with a wheel chair. The nurse who saw me struggling in the shop and helped me on her break, the nursing staff, the caring staff, the highly skilled consultant surgeons who pieced me back together. The girls in the plaster room, each and every one of all of them went above and beyond. I feel truly humbled at this amazing institution we all take for granted. How lucky are we. Seriously. God bless you all. Amazing, beautiful people. I am forever in your debt x

Review titled Excellent Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Tom Cross - Posted on 15 May 2023
I had to go to acute medical unit k to be checked over for a recurrence of atrial fibrillation and was given excellent care. They performed lots of tests and monitored me throughout the day. I was there from about 10am to 5pm and they kept me informed of what was going on, performed their duties efficiently and with a smile. They even brought me a couple of sandwiches to keep the wolves from the door lunchtime. The outcome was revised medication for me going forward.

Review titled The greatest thankyou 💓

After finding out I was pregnant after three miscarriages, I was extremely nervous about what the next few weeks/months would hold. I was treated with such compassion through all of those losses, and going back to EPAU this time around I was full of different emotions. After suffering from what turned out to be implantation bleeding at 7 weeks pregnant, I was scanned and consulted very frequently by the obs/gynae team, which was very reassuring. As my pregnancy progressed and my daughter was found to be 4 weeks too small for gestational age and i was found to have a significant placenta previa, we were able to be scanned once and at times twice a week to ensure that our precious baby was being monitored. Every doctor, midwife, MCA, sonographer acknowledged how worrying our journey was and never failed to give us the love and compassion we needed. Our beautiful daughter was born via elective section at 36 weeks after a scary few days prior to this being monitored for premature rupture of membranes and a bleed from my previous. I can't thank the staff enough for how well we were looked after during and after the section. Being a fellow NNUH healthcare professional myself I couldn't feel more proud of the hospital I work for, and couldn't feel more grateful for the safe delivery of our precious rainbow baby
