Review titled Could not have been better care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Edward and Jean Geary - Posted on 04 May 2023
Our Aunty mrs Westgate was an emergency admission after a fall, she was operated on and moved into Gateley Ward for what proved her last couple of days. The team were absolutely fantastic so caring and always so respectful of her needs as well as our very emotional needs.Right through to the Doctors final examination so respectful we will never forget her and the brilliant care. The sadness of her loss to the family can only be helped knowing how brilliant the team were throughout the Hospital.Thank you on behalf of our entire family and her beloved daughter Ann devastating loss but helped and supported so so much by yourselves.

The care I received in the Corony Unit and KIlverston Ward was beyond outstanding by all the nurses and Doctors, for which I am extremely grateful. Please pass this on to all concerned.

Review titled Very poor service delivery
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by graham gamblin - Posted on 20 July 2023
I have been waiting for a very long time to receive an effective medication for my Interstitial Cystitis. I have had several telephone consultations which have been a waste of time. On several occasions the specialist I thought I would speak to has been "unavailable" and a junior nurse has been allocated who has know nothing about my condition and been unable to progress my treatment. My suspicion is that people are dragging their feet for some reason. I even saw my own consultant privately who agreed to expedite matters and agreed with the treatment plan. This achieved nothing. It feels to me that my waiting for treatment has been "weaponised" and manipulated against me. It has taken literally years to get to this point with endless trials and error and offhand responses.

Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2023
After having chest pains for 2 days i decided to head up to a and e Norwich. I was seen as soon as i got in the door. Had some quick test which showed it wasn't a heart attack. Then i was sent to a and e majors/minors waiting area. So, I was clearly in a lot of pain in my heart/chest area (which we later find out was a cracked rib applying pressure/pain to my heart) and was sitting in this waiting area on uncomfortable chairs. It was 3 am and had very little sleep. In the end i literally had to find a member of staff and ask for some help. They then got me on a bed and done more tests etc. Fitted a blood canula. Eventually they got me to xray and saw what the problem was. But there was people with cut fingers and a sprained ankle being seen before myself and another guy who was clearly in a bad way. They certainly need to learn to prioritize as to who needs help the most rather than who's been there the longest. If I'd have waited 2 hours for an ambulance I'd have been seen a lot sooner than making my own way up there. I understand the staff shortages etc but it was an absolute dire situation. There needs to be a system about priority. Even a 10 year old could work that out. All the staff were friendly and i respect all those who helped me but the big wigs higher up need to get the whole department running better.

Review titled Exemplary care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I cannot thank the gynaecology team enough, from the bottom of my heart - thank you. You took care of me in my most frightening moments, nothing was too much to ask and it is because of you I am now safely at home. From first referral to the department, to admission, emergency surgery and aftercare - I cannot fault the team. The staff on my ward, the surgeons - everyone - I felt taken care of, I felt safe. Everyone was so friendly and caring, professional, approachable. Not often one for hospital food I can honestly say I looked forward to my meals and the smiling faces of the staff bringing myself and my husband tea. You were there for us in a time of pain and loss, what you do for people every day I cannot even imagine doing in one. Thank you for your service, thank you for keeping us safe, thank you.

Review titled Excellent treatment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Peter Older - Posted on 05 June 2023
At approximately 10pm on the 20th April, whilst on holiday in Norfolk, I fell unconscious with what I now know to be a Cardiac Arrest. I was very promptly treated at the scene by an excellent team of paramedics, who then handed me over to a cardiac team at the Norwich Hospital. Although I was unaware of what was happening, I apparently put up a bit of a fight which, fortunately for me, the cardiac team won and I am now recovering back in Devon. May I thank your hospital, the cardiac unit, and the paramedics for giving me another chance. The NHS at it’s best.

Review titled Pacemaker replacement
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Mr Neville Keith Brown - Posted on 24 April 2023
I had a pacemaker replaced 22-04-23. Everything very efficient and quick. Do not live in Norwich and do not have a car so the pre assessment phone call was wonderful. Had my yearly check 22-02-23 and found I needed a replacement pacemaker. By the 22-04-23 new one fitted. Male & female nurses were so kind . Well Done everyone.

Review titled Great experience sdem medical
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Jill Staines - Posted on 21 March 2023
Sent here by my gp and nervous about it after 2 awful experiences in a&e last year involving hours of waiting and overcrowding in a depressing area. It couldn't have been more different. Only a handful of people waiting. Blood pressure, ecg and bloods done soon after arrival and only a short wait to see the doctor. He seemed to have plenty of time for me and such a personable guy. The whole area was bright, very clean and all the staff were so friendly. I don't know if a&e has improved but there was no comparison between the a&e of summer 2022 and the sdem of March 2023.
