Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 July 2022
Child referred from GP as severely dehydrated. Less than 10 months old, made to sit in a glass reception area (18th July-Hottest day ever) in extreme heat. Not seen for over 5 hours. Surely with a GP referral a small child or anyone should be seen quicker. They have already been medically seen and diagnosed, no need to wait for a nurse to seem them to just wonder off and wait a few more hours for treatment. Reception staff just watching him get hotter and more uncomfortable in the glass reception area. No compassion ‘just another number’.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. I would like to apologise for the negative experience you have had whilst in the Emergency Department on the 18th July. I am unable to access any patient details in order for me to look into the issues you faced on this day. I would like to assure you that we will look into the care your child received. If you would like to contact me via email on sophie.grills@nhs.net I will be more than happy to discuss this with the clinical team and arrange for them to review the issues you faced. I hope your little one is recovering well, hope to hear from you soon. Sophie Grills
