  1. Review titled Amazing service from Endoscopy Department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Chilton - Posted on 24 June 2024

Endoscopy Department not appear on previous list. But review is for Endoscopy Department I would like to thank the Team today who conducted my Colonoscopy at North Tyneside Hospital. 24 June I have been blown away with the service provided by the Bowel Screening Service . The team today doing my colonoscopy, were absolutely outstanding. All staff present, were a credit to the department, made me feel so at ease, were so friendly and professional and made me feel so special and cared for. The NHS get such a battering at times, but what I have received over the past 3 weeks has been nothing short of an am amazing service. I feel so very lucky to have been in such safe hands. I am truly grateful to the consultant for her amazing skills , she is surrounded by a fabulous team of nurses and health care professionals. Please pass on my thank to everyone who looked after me so well today. I wish I coukd reveal the names. ❤️ to yiu all Very best regards Sue Chilton

  2. Review titled Embarrassed

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I recently had a chest X Ray at North Tyneside General Hospital, I've had previous chest x rays at this hospital without any problems at all but on this occasion 12th June 2024 I had an experience which made me feel very anxious and triggered my anxiety, the waiting area beside the actual x ray rooms and changing rooms was very busy with lots of people men and women, my name was called then for everyone to hear the nurse asked if I was wearing a bra then also for everyone to hear asked if it had wires in, never have I been asked that before, I've always been told to take everything off from the waist up and put a gown on, neither have I been in that area when it's been so busy but with lots of seats available in the waiting area where the x ray reception is, this experience was really embarrassing for me I already suffer from severe anxiety,I then had to come out the changing room wearing a gown with nothing underneath which made me feel really vulnerable infront of lots of members of the public, this has never happened to me previously, it might be an idea to tell staff to be discreet in future its nerve racking to start with when having tests done, you want to feel at ease, maybe people waiting could be sat in the main area beside the reception and called through when they are ready for you or even a couple at a time, it would make it alot less stressful on the patient

  3. Review titled Hip replacement - amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jan - Posted on 27 June 2024

From start to finish, the staff at North Tyneside Hospital were amazing. The staff on Ward 6 made me feel comfortable, saw to all of my needs and treated me with respect and a good dose of laughter. No ask was ever too much, no matter the time of day or night (I had to overnight, due to procedure being in the later afternoon). I have to say it was a great experience .... up and walking same day, home the next ..... Physios were amazing to help transition to crutches, then sticks.... all involved in my procedure were top of form! A big thank you and well done!!!!

  8. Review titled No empathy whatsoever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Emma - Posted on 07 April 2024

Horrendous! 3 x men in x-ray(angiogram). Male nurse trying pushing saline into right arm when not in vein. Very sore. He asked me if I was on blood thinners??? No I'm not. It's still very sore and bruised 3 x days now so may be taking this further if it doesn't heal properly. Not experienced this before.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended yesterday for a procedure that I was very anxious about. The consultant was absolutely amazing, explained everything really clearly before and after the procedure so I had a full understanding. The procedure itself was not as bad as I expected. The consultant was gentle, considerate and made the whole experience as good as it could be. My experience was a very positive one and I would like to thank all involved

  10. Review titled Hurry and lack of interest

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2024

I had another obstetrician appointment today, the last one before giving birth. The only question I was asked was "are you alright". I had to request everything myself - a scan, prescription and C-section booking. During the midwife appointment I was told that I'll learn everything I need to know about the operation during the obstetrics appointment. On my recent scan I was told exactly the same. Yet the only chat with an obstetrician ended with "are you feeling alright? - Yes". No checkup, no explanation of the upcoming procedures, nothing. Just haste and wasted hope for more information. It really shouldn't be my role to ask uncle Google about everything. I should get the information about the C-section from the midwives and doctors but really, I feel like no one cares. It's been a miserable experience to attend all the obstetrician appointments at North Tyneside Hospital. I learned nothing, had checked nothing, and felt like it was a waste of my time because they could just call me with silly questions like "are you alright?", it would be no difference. Additionally, the prescription requested by me was faulty and I had to wait half an hour for someone to get back to the obstetrician to amend it. The promised scan is still not visible in my Badger Notes so I assume I'll need to request it yet again as well. In short, that appointment was just a disaster. What if I were an unexperienced first-time mother with less knowledge and assertiveness? I'd probably get no prescription, no scan, and no C-section booked. And the appointment would end with "I feel alright". It's a shame and waste of money.
