They were all pleasant ,helpful , everything detail of my surgery was discussed before and after . I went home feeling happy and confident with the outcome of the day . Well Done All and The NHS ❤️

  2. Review titled Lack of Care

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Josh - Posted on 09 July 2024

My wife and I came for an pre op appointment, we were told that she needed to have her waters broken that night and then they moved her from ward to ward and not actually seeing her or doing as they had said for days, this meant my wife was left in extreme discomfort for an unnecessary length of time (days) before her waters went themselves. During the transitions from ward to ward (which was asked if we would by the staff) the staff said they would help move our stuff over, they had lost a few items and one of them was expensive and of high sentimental value which has devastated my wife. We were left feeling like an inconvenience and never a priority, uncared for and not listened to. It has made what should have been a beautiful experience a terrible one. On top of that on our last day after having paid excessive parking fees we were told there was away to have only paid £10 so paid 6x that amount for no reason. The one saving grace was the fact we had 3 midwives that stoodout above the rest and stopped us leaving and made the experience bearable. To anyone looking to have your baby at Northampton I would expect excessive waiting about and the only thing you will be told is blame the lack of funding and the government.

  4. Review titled Care beyond expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ken Platt - Posted on 24 June 2024

I was taken ill while visiting my wife in a&e. I suffered a form of Seizure caused by stress and anxiety. The care I received was beyond expectations considering I was there for my wife. The professional and compassionate treatment was more than I could have expected. Fortunately I was able to leave later after several blood tests, x-ray and monitoring until the wonderful doctor in a dark red uniform declared me fit to go home. I had made an awful mess and caused additional pressure on an already busy a&e but that didn’t matter. They reassured me and made me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you to those wonderful people for looking after me. Angels all of you.

  5. Review titled Caring and patient

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My child attended A & E and a paediatric nurse was so kind and patient with her, making things fun and explaining things to her in a child friendly age appropriate manner. They went above and beyond to help me manage my child’s illness and checked on my well-being as well as my child’s before we went home. Kindness goes such a long way, thank you.

  6. Review titled Exemplary caring team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Wendy - Posted on 13 March 2024

My experience of the A&E team caring for my dad will stay in my mind for a long time. Everyone was so caring, flexible, informative and helpful. From the moment we arrived in A&E until my dad sadly passed away on a ward the following day the team were compassionate and did all they could to make us all feel at ease in the departments. The care my dad and his family received was excellent.

  7. Review titled Sensible and supportive.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Robert Cox - Posted on 17 March 2024

I attend A and E after a period of discomfort with a severe rash over my body. After being sent there by NHS 111 doing an initial assessment. I was dealt with relatively quickly considering the department was busy on-a Saturday morning. Each member of staff carried out their task carefully and efficiently. I was gradually moved to different areas of the department who performed different jobs. I was impressed that each area had a clear understanding of what they should be doing and they worked quickly and sensibly with a gentle and caring approach. Patients that I saw all had comfortable seats to sit in or were in or on beds.

  8. Review titled Wonderful Sdec Staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by A. Andrews - Posted on 19 February 2024

I was admitted to Sdec on Quinton Ward today by a wonderful nurse in Accident and Emergency and dealt with in unexpected speed and good humour by genuinley kinda, patient and attentive nurses and an exemplary young female doctor in a hajib who I felt communicated and listened to me and a manner I am truly grateful for. I have had many unpleasant experiences is NGH recently however today I want to leave a record of recieving brilliant care by respectful and friendly staff. They should be commended and recognised each of them. I felt postivley cared for for the first time in a long while. Thank you so much.

  9. Review titled Wonderful care and compassion

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Charles Toop - Posted on 15 January 2024

I inter-reacted as an outpatient in s/dec with around 7 individuals who worked in various care capacities at the hospital, mostly from doctors to nurses. With the possible exception of the receptionist and considering my medical issue was of the most unpleasant kind, the medical staff were simply wonderful. They were caring, friendly and compassionate. The waiting time was, of course, extended but once that was over, I moved smoothly from one department to another as the various investigations were completed. Yes it took 8.5 hours but I am already on the way to recovery and just a day or two later, they have already made a follow-up appointment. Thank you NGH!

  10. Review titled Lack of contact

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 January 2024

I recently received a letter notifying me of an appointment in the audiology department, with less than a week's notice. I am travelling from Hampshire and already have an appointment with another department the day before. I never recieved a call from audiology to arrange an appointment, and when I tried to call them to rearrange, I only got an automated message saying they were now closed, but the opening times they provided meant they would be open. I called the general switchboard to try and rearrange the appointment and explain the situation, but they told me that the audiology department's opening hours had recently changed and I had only missed them by 15 minutes. I asked if I could call back tomorrow (Friday) and they told me that the audiology department was closed on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I wanted to have my appointment moved to next Tuesday as that is when my other appointment is, but given that I now have to wait until Monday to call back, I doubt I will get an appointment for then. The woman on the switchboard was entirely unhelpful and I explained my location (2.5 hours from Northampton) and she seemed completely uninterested and did not care nor want to help.
